I haven't driven a Miata in a long time, but it was a hoot when I did. The best piece of advice I can think of is a quote from a tire person I once read: "most people would rather crash into a tree than corner at more than 0.4g". Most even slightly sporty cars (especially a Miata) can corner past 0.8g on street tires. The point is the car can generally corner way faster than most people think, so if you're not sliding all over the place you should be going faster. :) The other one is get all your braking done before the corner and be somewhat on the gas through the corner. It's more critical on motorcycles, but you only have so much traction per tire so you don't want to be turning an braking at the same time. You want to be a bit on the gas though the corner as a turn naturally puts more weight on on the front tires, especially the outside tire. Being on the gas a bit lifts the front end and keeps more weight on the back tires.

This isn't even close to "slightly" OT, BTW. :)

Seems like there's a story in there somewhere.

Seems hard to believe they haven't had USS Enterprise (1799) and USS Enterprise (CVN-65) together that's some photo-op gold, there. Avatar: Josie painted it. Wait, that's not right.

Off Topic Gord Downie has terminal brain cancer

Various CBC Radio One stations (Vancouver, Invuk, etc.) are available on TuneIn radio (app, web), presumably they won't black out the show on the internet stream. -

This is one of those times it'd be nice if CBC put some random live camera feed on their Youtube page now so people could test ahead of time. Nothing like settling down at 8:30PM only to fight with the tech for an hour. (for me, I'm adding the extra bonus of seeing if it works over my Chromecast TV). If I were really serious, I'd be checking to see if any radio stations are carrying it and if those stream audio as a backup. EDIT: the youtube link is live now; I'm assuming that since it doesn't say anything like "this not available in your location" it's good. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n6pwkHjRWuM -

I'd think Laptop + Youtube would be a solid option for that, as long as the youtube link works in the states. -
How does the pitch clock work when the pitcher needs to throw to first a half dozen times to convince a runner to not take a big lead?

I know it's raining and all, but I could be an Olympic Beach Vball star if it involves off-speed dinks and hammering the ball 20 ft out.

So they're all Friends episodes? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Friends_episodes#Episodes

Oh, I do.

Ooh, last supper-style.

This is all as unclear as Lochte Ness.

If you paint me in a burka, that's probably best for all.

Would you prefer Duck Duck Gose?

I wonder which Buffalo brewer is going to step it with "Give a honk for the Gose".

What's more, I have a suspicion that "Monday" meant three days ago. I suppose I shouldn't hang the guy on the details, but he couldn't have signed Monday (other than with Buffalo).

Absolutely. It's going to be one of those rag tag team of misfits that we see in the movies all the time. Rex has a binder full of players that aren't in the NFL that will be stars if they just get another chance. (see: Necessary Roughness, The Replacements)

Winning at least 6 games, 5 year streak. I think they have a shot at at least 4 games too, that's 14 years!

"I'm on IT! Oh, gloves. Nevermind."

Come on, you can do better than that. How about: His ice time has to average more than 21:12.

Probably not, but he might be a hipster. Or a big fan of 1st and 3rd wave ska.

Let's hope he feels Jack and him are prefect Counterparts.

I'm not sure I entirely agree, but it's true in this instance. More people doesn't necessarily mean more individual cost, but in this case you're inviting the people that were too costly to make a profit off of before so it works out that way. Depends on the job. My job (technical job where I sit at a desk), no correlation. A job where a lot of the work is schmoozing and meeting with people in non-work, perhaps. Even if you only look at Hillary Clinton as "the wife of Bill Clinton", traveling on international trips and meeting with heads of states, ambassadors, etc., even at dinner must give some insight into how the process works. This whole line of thought, though, is somewhat off from the start. If Hillary Clinton were only a first lady and nothing else, I'd agree. But she's also been a US Senator and a Secretary of State. The latter of those two jobs has to be one of the top few jobs that would prepare someone to be president. I may even place it above being a state governor due to the international aspect of the work. State Governors would have more experience with the "buck stops here" aspect, but I don't think a decisive person would have that much trouble with it.

Victory / Southern Tier, even if they bought each other or however that arrangement works.
