  1. I thought it was a Beaut's fiance.
  2. They however gave up shorties on consecutive powerplays to go from 3-1 to 3-3. Never change, Edmo!
  3. Where's Rob Ray when you need him.
  4. To be enlightened, one cannot dwell on the past, nor look to the future. Be present in the now.
  5. Awww, man. I just realized the new Oilers barn has the bench opposite the camera. I'm going to miss that "WTF" moment whenever I turn on one of their home games.
  6. Did I do that right?
  7. I suspect with the news today, a lot of SS posters will have the flu tomorrow.
  8. Could be me, I'm working at least until then.
  9. Sam Bennett watch out, Jack's coming for you.
  10. No way, do you have any idea how toxic burning carbon fiber is?
  11. I can't imagine what the Russian AHL looks like.
  12. The problem I have with this is in some circles any criticism of America provokes this reaction. I won't pretend to know, but my guess a fairly large percent of the people who are complaining now would still be complaining if it didn't involve the flag. I don't think there's a way to say America isn't all it's cracked up to be unless you're a Conservative blaming Liberals for all their problems. That goes doubly if you're a minority complaining about America.
  13. I'll go further: when did the flag become the exclusive property of veterans and the armed forces? Why is it that when someone kneels, the detractors always bring out the veteran angle and disrespect? I'll echo someone's question above: how does Kaep protest that doesn't just end up being a bunch of people yelling about how he doesn't love America and by extension the military.
  14. The best reason to play him is to see if his funk is a funk or if he's really done. It seems like he knows he wasn't good last year and the management agrees. This is it for him, let's see what happens on a scoring line for a bit before writing him off.
  15. I'm in. This'll be a fun distraction until I go broke in early December.
  16. For reference, Coatesville is 15 miles into the Alabama section, but it's very people of color oriented. :) Also I had always heard Kentucky, not Alabama, giving the world the name Pennsyltucky. Realistically, that's most Northern states though. It's not that different than Wyoming County in NY.
  17. I don't think Asheville NC makes sense, but it's a great town. Hillsville VA is nondescript but definitely not deliverance. If you end up there, go to Aunt Bea's BBQ for breakfast. The sausage gravy and biscuits is worth the stop. Disclaimer: I've wandered into that town twice while riding around on the bike. I didn't explore it much but it's a big enough town that it looked normal.
  18. Truth, there's at least one of those every season. Even going back to a 10-5 loss (the only game to finish with that score in NFL history) to the Bucs during the "good Bills" era where the Bucs were terrible but reports are the Bills were out partying the night before. I think that cost the Bills home field in the AFC Championship game in 88, which they lost. Give matcha (Japanese powdered) green tea a shot. It's easy to make cold or hot, and has more caffeine that normal since you're actually consuming the tea itself. One warning is that the Chinese Matcha is apparently higher in lead than Japanese. Still not coffee caffeine levels though. Usually make several pots of loose tea a day, although I re-use the leaves at least once if not more times which mitigates it some.
  19. Nor, BTW, can a Senator initiate bills regarding budgets and taxation, that's a job of the House. Trump really needs to take some 10th grade US Government classes.
  20. No kidding, 11. We're all the island of misfit toys here, it's cool; like family.
  21. It's easier to frame things as Liberal and Conservative, as those tend to hold meaning better than the party names. A quick timeline of the parties: Lincoln was a Republican. The Union won the Civil War. The South is all, "we hate Republicans, Democrat 4-eva" Northern Democrats in the 60s: "Hey, this whole segregation thing doesn't jive with the 14th Amendment (equal protection)." Southern Democrats (Dixiecrats): Umm, what do we do now? Minorities being treated like humans will be the end of the world. Republicans: Hey, you guys want to come vote for us? We'll listen to you. Former Southern Democrats: Sounds good.
  22. I'm waiting for Trump to suggest building a wall along the Atlantic coast to stop boat-borne immigration. It'll be a great wall. He's going to call it the "Atlantic Wall". With a name like that, it's got to work, right? (PS: I know the name has already been used)
  23. Eleven is being 100% factual. It works in Rush, but he's venturing close to second lead guitar territory. Depends on your preference, but I prefer JPJ or Entwistle's (and McCartney too) style far more than Geddy's (even if Geddy is awesome). It complements the music and makes it sound good without being showy. I'm partial to a groove more than a solo. EDIT: OK, so this is really cool, someone posted up an isolated bass track of a live Who performance showing how awesome Entwistle is. This is the original full mix from the same show: This is the isolated bass track (the must have recorded it multitrack at the time): His playing is so technical at times, but it blends in with the song so well you almost don't notice unless you really listen for it. If you're impatient, check out the stuff around 7:00.
  24. Someone around here said Fasching was doing a great job on the boards and getting pucks to his teammates who then didn't finish. Imagine if those two work, and they you substitute Larsson or Girgensons in the real line up. It's worth a try for a game or two.
  25. Has. to. be. Please let that be sarcastic.
