  1. Take it as a gift; at least we won't have to see Risto get 35 minutes of ice time in a regulation loss.
  2. Better, check with Josie first. I'm not sure you want my sour old man stink about the place.
  3. Agree with the others about the Flagg posts on the The System thread. That's some great work. In football terms, Dan's system is 5 of 6 plays is to throw 20-30 yard passes. They don't connect often, but at least when they don't you're not tackled for a loss. The other play is to hand off to your first-team all-star running back (Eichel), who rushes 11 yards per carry on average, but in Dan's mind no one else on the team can do that.
  4. He either did change the system in his mind but it looks the same to us ("but the center now looks to receive that 95 ft pass on the *right* side of the ice!"), or when the going got tough, he went back to his safe-place. Either way, I hate his system and I grow ever more weary of watching it.
  5. Zero seems unlikely, but < 0.05 % isn't. :) The Sabres have to be close to mathematical elimination by now though.
  6. I'm moving to the cancel NHL.tv and f' it, maybe I'll listen to a few on the radio when I think of it, camp. Or is that a bunker?
  7. I'm torn, perhaps I should have, but at this point I'm interested how far off they end up and how close 93 is to being "right".
  8. After this collecting dust, it moves.
  9. Or that French guy that plays for the Flyers, Bellemare. Signed into the NHL at 29, I can't believe he was drafted.
  10. That's interesting. Does it mean that some late-bloomer playing for (say,) MODO in the SHL can never play in the NHL if suddenly at 22 it clicks and he becomes unstoppable?
  11. Turns out Matthews refers to his hair as Lake Ontario. M-x grammar-nazi-mode Jack *can* break is record with a 7 point night. Whether Jack *will* break his record this season is another question. The two people that voted "No" are patently wrong.
  12. Marc Andre Gragnani played well above his pay-grade for an extended period. McGinn a couple years ago. Cy Hgsn had 44 points during the first tank year.
  13. I don't think I like the Kings style any more than DD, although I might be getting them mixed up with the Ducks.
  14. This is ridiculous. ROR would be a Norris-calibre D, not Jack.
  15. It be interesting to run those for other teams. It wouldn't surprise me if teams are often out-shot in wins as the losing team throws everything at the net in the third to try to tie it up. I'd also bet the Sabres' is among the more drastic differences with the Ala-mode system that goes into place once we're up by a goal.
  16. I should dig up my Keep Calm and Carrion meme from a couple years ago.
  17. That's way closer to pi/2 than pi/4 in that shot.
  18. Agreed. Based on his habit of moving around and challenging, I'm worried that he thinks he's a much more athletic goalie than he actually is and that's going to get him into trouble when teams get a book on him. Also 11, you have a microwave in your bathroom? That's odd.
  19. Yep. I really doubt any UFA is going to fix this team, unless they find 2-3 UFA D that can fire perfect 100ft passes all night.
  20. I was thinking the same thing.
  21. From this point, what do the Sabres need to go 6-10 for the last 16? That's a Buffalo record.
  22. Does Lou's annual fire the coach and take over while he was in NJ count?
  23. And his wandering ways where he finds himself (RJ voice) "Way, WAY out of position".
  24. Maybe. I don't think the D is as bad as HHDCRGDDB's system makes them look. The roster for the system is hopelessly flawed; I'm not ready to hang GMTM until I see these players on a system that works to their strengths. If there's not a new coach by May 1st, and GMTM has a say in it, I'm ready to fire everyone.
