  1. My guess? Natural effect like a gust of wind. Even when cameras pick up Bill Parcell's son shooing Flamingos in the end zone Sean Connery Indiana Jones-style.
  2. My favorite is where Norwood kicks it square down the middle but it hits an errant flamingo and drops in the endzone. The flamingo was unharmed.
  3. If they're looking for D for some reason, then they'd be the logical choice unless LV wants Bogo. I get Pi's point though; protect Bogo and the next two most attractive vets are Moulson and Ennis. Leave them unprotected and protect some of the depth guys (Larsson, Girgs, etc.) and force LV to take them. Lehner Risto McCabe ??? I don't think Guhle needs protection, so if not Bogo I guess Austin/Falk/Fedun? Antipin (TBD)? Okposo Kane ROR Carrier Foligno Larrson Girgensons I think that's my list, although I'm a rube at this stuff. I don't think LV would deep enough to pluck Bailey or one of the other AHL Forwards rather than Moulson or Ennis, or Gorges. I'm probably forgetting someone.
  4. It'd be better if they were identical twins, but I think our resident stats and bio people can factor that in.
  5. You don't have some emergency stash in the toilet tank or under the bed?
  6. And he needs to be on a good team. I don't think many Norris candidates play on non-playoff teams; call it either bias or no player's raw numbers look good on bad teams.
  7. Yeah right, Eichel's got that locked up.
  8. I believe Vegas is required to select one, and only one, player from each team. Besides, LV does have to build an actual team so while they will apparently make deals with teams to not pick a particular guy, I'd bet you'll see more cases of LV picking a prospect in exchange for a pick rather than taking out some other team's garbage. For instance, LV could tell Buffalo "we're taking Zemgus unless you throw us a pick and we'll take Falk instead" (NOTE: I'm just throwing names in there, please don't eval that particular trade-off). He did say TWO of those three.
  9. That's not fair, I suggest you look up the endless videos of guys long hair and/or beards playing LOTR songs on the recorder. :)
  10. XGMTM picked the consensus best center in the draft. You can't really argue with that in hindsight. They're also very young, it'll be interesting to see who has the better career over the long term.
  11. It largely depends on who GMTBD brings in as head coach, assistant, and head massage therapist. I'm (perhaps naively) betting on "breath of fresh air" like when the coach is fired mid-season and the team goes on a run. Pitts went from 4th in the Metrosexual division to 2nd the season after they fired HHDCRGDDB. Anyone know how that data extrapolates out? The Sabres could jump from 8th in the Atlantic or 6th (two spots) or from 8th to 4th (halfway to 1st).
  12. He hasn't posted a good GDT in month.
  13. There's a bunch or research showing that brains go through phases as the age and things are easily learned during that phase. Language skills are generally from 2-6 years old where learning a second (or third) is relatively easy. 12-14 years old is another one with random stuff; I still remember repetitive things from back then even though they have no basis in my current life. Not surprisingly, this mostly manifests as lyrics to chorus songs and if I still had a trombone, I'm sure I could bust out Louie Louie with reckless abandon.
  14. There are a couple videos in the Memorable Goals threads that show what can happen when a forward plays D (hint: Alfredsson). When people talk about young D, they often talk about having to learn the angles as a way to protect against the opposing rush. I take that to mean there's a lot of subtle positioning that happens when you're skating backwards to keep the opposing player away from the net.
  15. Interesting about the President thing; I'm sure there are a couple people that wouldn't stand for that. Fenton is apparently abrasive, I would bet he'd say no.
  16. After writing that, I remembered that felt the same way, and that I'm not sure I could anything useful with a transistor without a lot of review and smoke. Maybe I should take EE off my resume. :)
  17. I forgot how many Guy brothers and cousins there are in the NHL; the Sutters, Millers, and Staals have nothing on them.
  18. I think he said "as involved". I'm sure he signed off on it, and probably interviewed Dan. I'd guess XGMTM said something like, "Well, Babcock screwed us. I like DB as my next choice." TP: "OK, go get him."
  19. Old Sugar Packets, Top Shelf Oats, and What the Hecht? are my top three.
  20. When my parents were dating, my GrandmaPie made cookies and accidentally added a cup of salt instead of sugar. My mom managed to eat one with a straight face before someone else tried one and spit it out. They threw them out in the yard but even the birds wouldn't touch them. :) Complaint: It's all work, all the time.
  21. I have a tough time placing this one, strangely. Pommer's OT on Emery I remember exactly, Max's goal against the Rangers, yes, but this one I can't remember.
  22. PNP and NPN tranistors are interchangeable.
  23. FWIW, the art guy over at Penny Arcade was signing the praises of the MS Surface a few years ago.
  24. Nice read, thanks. Hey PA, did you see this part? Might want to put a tarp down before your head explodes. :) (I kid, I kid)
