Soccer has a long history of referring to players by first name only. In the NBA, it helps that some players have unique names so there's no confusion. To wit, there's only one LeBron in the NBA (I assume); I don't think people commonly refer to Jordan or Bird as "Mike" or "Larry" as there have been at least dozens of each name to play.

I had some Wegman's bangers for dinner last night! No mash, however; I grilled them and had them on a bun with horseradish mustard. RosePie loved them too (with out the bun and mustard).

I don't have much doubt that if the finals were in Buffalo, there'd be that many people downtown; especially if you hedge and adjust for population. There were something like 10000 outside at the Rangers game that Drury won in OT, weren't there? And that was second round. Good for Nashville. I'm happy the fans down there have embraced the team.

Last game of little league when I was 6 I had become an okay hitter and a disastrously slow runner. Nothing but singles all season. Last inning of the season, I'm up. Walk off RBI double. All downhill from there.

I'm not sure Ovechkin fits on that list. Other than his cap hit (and even then, maybe), I'd take him on the team any day.

These days, I take everything from P Ham with a liberal grain of salt. He's been writing and saying some strange things so everything he says is now questionable. His crusade against Reinhart using faulty stats, all the coach killer stuff around the end of the season, etc. has shot is credibility. That being said, he may be completely right about Kulikov and would explain why he looked so bad this season. I'm not attached to him, although I wouldn't mind seeing him under HCTBD if he wants to be back.

I'm so torn, few things in non-Sabres hockey would please me more than Dion making a mistake costing his team the season AND the Pens eliminated on home ice. What to do!

Could be a bearing issue too; my old Subaru suddenly got really rattly one day and the two places I took it too said probably a crank or rod bearing. Either way, no fixing it for less than the car. I did drive it for months like that, just kept the RPMs down and a light touch on the gas.

I'm curious as to the rationale of 2010-2014; it excludes 2009 4th M. Foligno (347 games) and 2009 3rd McNabb (238 games (12 with Buffalo)). That being said, 2008 is a complete wash for late round picks (Myers and Ennis in the first, Luke Adam in the 2nd, long-time poster nobody after that).

He's probably playing to the crowd. I'd bet most fans (and certainly the the meatheads on WGR) generally aren't pro-stats so he's not going to go out of his way to prove himself wrong *and* alienate people.
