$3M is nice money, but he'd still have to work or live lower-middle class if he tried to ride out the rest of his life on that $3M. $3M / 70 years == $42K / yr. Sure there's investing and whatnot, but inflation means he needs another contract to be truly set. Weird world of only getting paid for a short period of your life.

Same here, although not quite to that level. It wasn't bad with my old glass bottle since it'd warm up pretty quickly. I now have an insulated water bottle and the water stays cold too long (1st world problem), so I do exactly that. Also, I drink a lot of green tea, which is better around 175 deg F than the near-boiling water out of the water machine so I put a little cold in first, and then fill with hot.

Am I doing this right?

Best change the name, though. (xkcd 1807)

Also casual from the resident baseball fan. :)

Random thought about that clip: the Devils were skating three guys name -son, one -sen, and Zacha.

Good hockey name there, eh?

I wonder if "How I met your Mother" stole that or vice versa. Whichever, HIMYM got the axes wrong.

Reminded of the exact wording of that quote, I'm curious what Lehner is going to say about a new system that is entirely the bolded.

Same here. I've seen an instance where someone was using the English phonetic spelling of my last name as their last name (presumably changed while immigrating by the ancestor or immigration person). I. E., Using the Bowlyou spelling instead of Beaulieu.

i have to think that A> DiPietro would have been worth a first *round* pick if he had stayed healthy, and B> should be the top response to anyone suggesting a team draft based on need. I imagine it going like this: Poster1: At #10, Alexei Rachmaninoff (C ) and Brodiee Sutter (LW) will probably be the best two players available, we should draft one of them; I prefer Alexai but either is fine. Poster2: We should draft Gord Luckachuk at #10, because we need a D Poster1: We should draft the best player, we can trade a successful prospect for another if needed. Poster2: No, we need D Poster1: DiPietro Poster2: Oh, you're right. Carry on.

LOL at those few that didn't get it and were quick to judge NPR.

Buffalo: come for the food, leave when you can dig out your car in the spring.

Even worse, she's a millennial with lady parts and associated problems. Gross!

I can't help but think he's a Chad Ruhwedel. Sorry, Stanley Cup Champion Chad Ruhwedel. Another piece is good but I won't cry if he doesn't come here.

No Internet you say? https://groups.google.com/d/topic/alt.sports.hockey.nhl.buffalo-sabres/n43pwL3rWZE/discussion Looks like the archive doesn't go back far enough, sadly, but I bet there was much discussion at the time.

Colorado qualified him, so that's a pretty bold move on his part if true.

Mette is just so adorable.

Two music related awesome events: I bought all the CDs from Asteroids Galaxy Tour. It's been in my head for months, and Pandora/Google/etc. songs here and there just wouldn't cut it. For those questioning CDs, used CDs via Amazon cost less than buying digital copies and I can import into new formats in the future if I need to. I picked up three for <$25. The CDs, BTW, were pristine. I think a lot of people buy, rip, and resell. Need to rip a few CDs finally motivated me to really come to terms with my CDs. I never systematically imported them, so they've languished in my basement and MP3s here and there on various drives. I'm doing them all again with an eye to probably get rid of many that I won't really need in the future. My process has been to use iTunes AAC at 160 kbit (I've deluded myself to thinking I need "better" quality than most people even though I don't have the ears or hifi equipment to hear the difference) set to automatically import whenever a CD is inserted. Google Play Music is "watching" my iTunes folder so any new music that shows up get automatically uploaded to Google Play. From there, my phone and computer have all my music. It's bringing back a ton of nostalgia and love for me.

I don't remember many thinking ROR wasn't good, just that Girgs was going to be as good (erm) and there was no guarantee he was going to stay. I was wrong on both of those accounts.
-
No kidding. That was a Briere - Grattan level fleecing, except this time everyone knew how good ROR is.

The Sabres lost two D this offseason (Kulikov and Franson), and have picked up two (Anitpin and Beaulieu), Fedun was the lesser half of F-troop (Falk and Fedun, injury call-ups), and signed to a two-way contract. This screams "top-pair AHL / competent enough fill-in for bottom pair". I don't have a hard time believing that Fedun is that much worse than most teams' #9 on the depth chart; the problem last season was he wasn't that much worse than the #4-6 guys.

Ranking: The Sabres, who's our best to worst player?

Even so, I really can't see Ennis below 16 or so. He needs to be up near 8-10 to be worthwhile on the team. -
Undoubtedly, dude has been laying off the borscht lately.. Trump is really the best at pull ups. He can do the most of anyone he's ever heard of. When people talk about pull-ups, his name always comes up. He's also mad that the media took a picture of him doing them but didn't edit out Putin lifting his legs. (I'm hoping this is taken lightly as I intend it)

We found out about that for the last renewal, and for taking RosePie's picture. We took hers when she was 6 months or so, so the recommendation was to put a white blanket down and take it from above instead of trying to get a barely able to sit up infant to look in the right direction. We did, and she promptly had a blow out; I think there may be a little poop in the picture itself. My UB student ID may be one of my best, I'll have to see if I can find it. This one isn't bad either:
