  1. If it's PC police to think misogynists are , then call me Frank Poncherello.
  2. I'm with you on the fake part, they just pale in comparison to the real item I think it makes it harder to switch. There are so many good dishes you can make without meat that trying to pretend just doesn't make sense. That being said, Beyond Meat's fake-burgers smell a little funny before they're cooked, but after grilling they're pretty close. Close enough that I wouldn't immediately think they weren't beef if you sprung them on me. And, a local vegan place called Greyhound Cafe makes honest-to-$DEITY good wings. I have no idea how they got the sauce to taste that correct without butter, and the texture isn't bad either; no bones of course but the seitan has the same "chew" as chicken meat. https://www.thetowndish.com/2017/03/31/greyhound-cafe-making-vegan-comforting-main-line/
  3. Very cool. There's an collision shop specializing in exotics near here; it's always interesting to drive by and see the mashed up Ferraris, Lambos, etc.
  4. You can get plenty of iron and protein from plants. Also, not all beers are vegan. Oyster Stout, obviously, but some beers have other animal derived products (honey, "natural flavors", etc.) http://www.foodrepublic.com/2012/12/27/getting-to-know-oyster-stout-a-beer-made-with-oysters/  . Kane must eat nothing but fritos by this metric.
  5. I too prefer 5 Guys to Shake shack, mostly for the breadth of toppings available and it being less greasy. Both are walking distance from my office, although the exercise/calorie/cost calculation means I don't make the trip very often.
  6. Seems like he's been around forever, I figured he was more like 25 and solidly in WYSIWYG territory.
  7. That took me a second, but very well done.
  8. Thanks, I was getting to that. 10 goals and 9 assists better be bringing something else (two-way, PK, grit, etc.) to the table, and I can't imagine Armia bringing much of any of those.
  9. Ooops, forgot to include that part. The original email I got it in was titled, "too funny". Yeah, the experience is stupid. That being said, if it were full time (with benefits) and paid right, I'd have considered it as part of a strategy to get back to WNY.
  10. Awesome, tax breaks. In other words, the taxpayers (read: people that don't make enough to get sweetheart deals on taxes) pay in the end since the county budget needs money from somewhere. Do the math: Even if Erie County "only" puts in $100M, that's $50 (ish) for every man, woman, and child in Erie County. Do you honestly believe every single person in the county is going to see $50 of new income and/or enjoyment out of the deal to offset their increased taxes?
  11. Anyone looking for a job in WNY that involves a lot of walking? I know nothing about this other than what's on the page Someone sent it to me due to the WNY connection: http://jobs.leidos.com/ShowJob/Id/1288897/Field-Engineer/
  12. I was thinking about the Winnipeg trade the other day when Joel Armia came up. I think it's getting better for Buffalo as time goes on. Stafford walked, Armia is a non-factor as far as I can tell, and Le-mew didn't light up the AHL last year; it's too early to tell what the pick (Roslvic (SP)) is going to do. So Myers is the only piece right now that's an NHL player for Winnipeg. Kasdorf appears to be a non-factor, so Kane and Bogo. Whatever Bogo loses out to Myers on, I have to think Kane makes up for, even if he ends up traded this season.
  13. That's what, three points for Eichel on the night? It's preseason, of course.
  14. I really dig this tile.
  15. "I bet you didn't know that the 2017 Ford Escort gets an overall 5-star rating from the NHTSA, did you? It's a seriously great car." You're right, wildcard, it *is* fun talking up 5-star escorts.
  16. I'm that's a sick burn calling Gorges Bogo. Or maybe you're calling Bogo Gorges. Either way, nice! :)
  17. Arcane weirdness of broadcast and cable rights contracts would be my guess. Or, NHL feels it isn't worth the effort.
  18. Yep, as I get older anything in the last 10 years seems recent.
  19. Uh huh. The trouble ticket is telling me a dog ate the server.
  20. Ha, "Dough Marrone".
  21. Didn't he whine about Buffalo recently? He's already there.
  22. Housely probably wants to keep realistic 3rd and 4th lines together, and put a body on second line so Pominville/Reinhart/etc. can slot in without disrupting anything else. It makes sense that you wouldn't put a small scoring forward down at the bottom.
  23. This sounds remarkably like the last few days for me. I get through the howto to get the basic stuff working, and then when you ask, "how do a authorize users based on what group they're in?" you get answers like membership_filter = "(|(member=%{control:Ldap-UserDn})(memberUid=%{%{Stripped-User-Name}:-%{User-Name}}))" and no directions on how to define how groups are listed and what attributes they map to. WTF. All I can say is keep going and it'll get easier, that's what I keep telling myself. Unfortunately, this is already late for me.
