  1. Hell, I don’t have any issues but I’d love a game with less music and flashing lights.
  2. I still stand by the “just look at that guy” defense. They should print pictures of that guy’s face on punching bags.
  3. Northeastern is currently on the wrong side of the bubble for the NCAA field. The Sabres may wind up getting an earlier look at Levi in the blue and gold.
  4. The Blackhawks have Robb Stauber’s kid in net now? He should match his dad’s career in about a week.
  5. You mean earth?
  6. They came back to mark stuff again and somehow managed to get something else wrong this time. I wish I could see when they mark stuff because it's pretty obvious at this point that they're guessing.
  7. Personally, I think "just look at that guy" should be an acceptable legal defense for throwing a punch.
  8. His girlfriend got in more offense than he did.
  9. I have a 1 year old who is unusually tall and at this point can reach just about anything on our counters. I guess I’m a helicopter parent right now.
  10. The lack of common sense really sums it up. The red line (power) drawn on my grass connecting my electric meter to a time Warner cable box is a real head scratcher.
  11. Can we get a Gord's Notes summary of the discussion (or whatever it was we learned last week that canadians call them)?
  12. It's certainly not the "worst contract in the league" like some may have wanted to say a few years back. I remember one game where someone on the opposing team was caught on camera taunting him, something along the lines of "how'd you get all that money"*. I doubt that happens anymore. Overpaid? Sure. But there's far worse out there. One thing people need to keep in mind when looking at these rankings you spelled out is that goalies and defensemen will be in those money rankings, but obviously aren't judged by those same point rankings. * By the way, how is that a taunt anyway? I'd love it if I was getting paid way more than I was worth.
  13. I'm having a fence put in and 811 came out today to mark all the underground lines in my yard. I know exactly where my power line is due to previous work and whoever came out marked it wrong. Thank god I do know where it is because the fence workers (and me too) would have been in for a very rude awakening if they dug based on these markings.
  14. I think it's the kind of deal that you make if you are trying to make a deep run into the playoffs. We're just trying to get there. If Kane really wants to come here, I wait until free agency. The defense is the only position I'd be upgrading through trade at this point, mostly because I don't see a goalie deal coming. The kids up front need to be making this run together at this point and the expiring contracts of Girgensons and Okposo aren't going anywhere at this point.
  15. The United States does not have a Secretary of Labour.
  16. That is how it has always been. Now that you ask about it, I realize that I never even thought twice about it and don't have an explanation for why they do it that way. I'm guessing it's just because that was the easiest way to sneak a tournament into an ongoing season.
  17. You don't realize the power you have. Just picture the pure chaos I cause when I step on an ant in my backyard.
  18. The problem with listing 3 players as model 2nd liners is that there are still 29 other teams out there.
  19. How about a team that knows they're a lot better in OT and shootouts than they are at 5 on 5 hockey? Even if somehow the players don't realize that, the coaching staff sure as hell does and will tweak the game plan and ice time late to salvage that tie. Just look how overtime hockey changed the second the bonus point was established... even before the switch to 3 on 3. OT was horribly boring most nights back when there were ties. Once they added that point, teams loosened up in OT and started taking chances. When you change rules, the teams adapt to that and change.
  20. That has to be the one where my parents were yelling at me for shaking the table.
  21. Of course it does. The easiest to believe scenarios are down the stretch, the so called "when every point matters" point of the season (every point matters all year). If you're a handful of points away from locking up a spot, you're not doing anything to risk losing that one point you're already on pace to get.
  22. These direct conversions are meaningless though. With a different set of scoring rules, teams change the way they approach the games. The most obvious one would be that currently in a tied game in the last 10 minutes or so, teams play for the tie.
  23. They should do it as a winter classic at one of these northern locations. I’d rather see that instead of real games outdoors.
  24. The other hockey East schools used to chant “husky women” at northeastern. UCONN wasn’t in the league at that point. I’m now picturing these two fanbase a chanting it back and forth at each other.
