It wasn’t a big spark, but enough to catch my attention. It was right next to my brand new aluminum fence too, so I decided no to leave the backyard through that gate.

I was just trying to sneak I. Some yard work before thunder storm rolls through in an hour or so. About 5 feet away from me the downspout on the gutter gave off a big spark. Then coincidentally there was some thunder a few seconds later. I decided to get the hell out of there and head inside. Can a charged atmosphere cause a spark on a gutter like that?

I'd say that hopefully people are made very aware of this horrific rule ahead of time. But even still, that's right around the Christmas season where people specifically choose that game because they'll be in town. It really is a giant FU to everyone. From what I can find, ATOs are eligible for the playoffs. Teams will do it all the time, they give the player their ELC after the college/junior season, but it doesn't start until the following year. Then they play on an ATO, unless more recent CBA changes have eliminated that. Google's not being my friend right now, but I've got a story up right now about how Jack Campbell played with the Stars' minor league team on an ATO in 2012 but he had initially signed his ELC in 2010. The only limitation of the ATO is that it expires after a specific number of games.

Don't they typically give them the ELC but then have them play on an ATO?

I've only been to two comedy shows in my life. The first a friend of a friend, the oddly named Bob Marley. The other was a post-bat mitzvah gathering for my neighbor's daugther. That last one was very interesting. There were two comedians and neither had ever done a show with a room full of mostly kids. The first rolled with it and made so many "ask your parents about that one" comments. The second was incredibly awkward because of it, constantly starting jokes and then just saying "oh wait, can't tell that one".

I love every so often when this comes up and people have no idea that Blackhawk was a person.

I'd imagine that the process is slightly different given that it's his first contract/first time working in the league. But yeah, it still seems like a crazy amount of time. Clearly they must have found a ton of skeletons buried in his closet, some sort of international smuggling ring in his family's past. He may in fact be a supervillain or even an alien.
