  1. The CHL is concerned about losing their best players. Who are the CHL players that are drafted? Their best players. I really don't see any reason for either side to modify the current arrangement. The CHL wants to keep their players as long as possible and the NHL gets to retain the rights to a player longer. They're not going to make waves for a handful of unique cases.
  2. That's exactly what I meant. But anyway, the "screw the CHL" stance makes it very difficult for a conversation on a topic that you started. Every other league has a transfer agreement (ok, most of them) and the CHL needs one as well.
  3. Let's face it, the players that would be moved up early are not going to be evenly distributed around the CHL. What happens when 5 different NHL teams all decide to use this early call up on guys all playing on the same team? I can't picture teams agreeing to that kind of risk.
  4. So he's supposed to be sympathetic towards the person accusing him of something that he says he did not do? That type of response is not even remotely human. If the statement did actually say that, people would be lining up to call it BS.
  5. And then it comes down to OHL vs. WHL. It looks like Bedard is the only one who ever got exceptional player status to play young with the WHL. I'd imagine they don't like messing around with the rules very often.
  6. I'll be in that boat eventually. I was actually thinking at the course about when my son is in school I'll be able to hang out with his friend's grandparents.
  7. I snuck out this morning for a golf lesson. At one point the pro, who I'm pretty sure is younger than me, mentioned his daughter in college. Meanwhile here I am with a 1 year old. For the longest time I always used to gauge people's age by the age of their kids. I really need to find a new system.
  8. Has the league/team provided any information on why they gave him that exemption?
  9. Is that actually how it works? Trotter's group can't go and dig up that person now? Why even include it then? Can I end another sentence with a question mark?
  10. That 03-04 team scored a lot of goals, if my counting is correct, 10th most in the league. I do remember there being some good vibes coming from that at the end of the season. Of course, the lockout destroyed that. Oh sure, group together to two big physical forwards who played 3 years at BU. Seriously though, I hope he can be this team's Mike Grier. I absolutely loved the guy. I'm guessing I'm one of very few who have that jersey.
  11. My filipino neighbor regularly refers to her half white half asian son as brown. If it was just a conversation between two people, how long would due diligence really take? -Did you say this? No, ok. -Did he say this? Maybe, ok.
  12. Did you get to the Jerry Jones stuff? I’d be curious to see if any of that was recorded. The few headlines I’ve run across today are so inflammatory towards Pegula, essentially saying “Bills owner is a racist, <tiny font>allegedly</tiny font>.” I’d be curious to see his details since he’s being handled with the kid gloves.
  13. I’m waiting for the day that someone gets offended when I yell at the geese to go back to Canada. Fortunately Canadians don’t get offended.
  14. Taking a single sentence out of an entire conversation (or however those comments allegedly came about) is a dangerous game. Zero context provided by a twitter post? That’s a first. Either comment could have been preceded by something like “some people may say…” or “those stupid Ns…”. Those two options paint completely different pictures. I caught the beginning of My Cousin Vinny last night. Go watch what the cop uses as Danny LaRusso’s murder confession. Wait for more information before any owner is getting thrown out of the league. Edit: And also wait before giving either owner a pass.
  15. I’m not the least bit surprised. There’s some great stuff out there at rinks of every level.
  16. Love it. If I had computer skills and time, I'd create a website documenting all the different red line designs out there and their history.
  17. Probably just as many times as you read over that that Daboll needs to go.
  18. Compare that to Ottawa who has handed out a bunch of 7-8 year deals lately. Ok, it's not 12 years or whatever we're at, but they're in pretty much the same boat as us, a lengthy rebuild with the current administration. As a fan, it takes some getting used to, but as you said, these long term deal are just the way of the league right now.
  19. I have a couple neighbors that are giants fans. Listening to them last week, they pretty much believed that Dabol was the Buffalo Bills over the last couple years. I wonder what they think today.
  20. I forgot that people around here like to answer the rhetorical questions.
  21. How they can live up to the hype… by winning?
  22. And what if Power is the best player on the team after those 3 years?
  23. My 2011 died earlier this year. If not for the fact that I now have a car payment for the first time in a while, I don't miss it one bit. The true annoying part though is that my 8 year old HVAC kicked the bucket last night. So instead of no car payments, I now have 2.
  24. Finger pointing at the Pegulas is pretty funny in here. I'm willing to bet that this decision never even crossed their desk, other than maybe a quick rubber stamping. This one isn't worth their time.
