  1. It’s subscription so I can only read the first few lines. That said, Lambert has always been a douche daring back to his college days. The first line at that link shows to me that he’s still that douche.
  2. You’ve followed up your useless commentary with even more useless commentary. Touché. Look, just because some guys aren’t cut out for head coaching jobs doesn’t mean that they aren’t very good at other roles.
  3. I wonder what was remaining on his deal with the Devils.
  4. Just for the record, I don’t care one bit about the loser points. Those are ties. The shoot out win is the phony point.
  5. Ok, so then I have zero use for this metric. Arbour and Ruff are tied, but a 2-2 final score can wind up as a positive outcome for one but not the other.
  6. Just for the record, Phil Housley is the associate coach of this year’s Presidents’ Trophy winning team. So maybe we don’t mock him as an assistant.
  7. The winning percentage of the modern guys, Lindy included, gets inflated a bit by shoot outs and the newer OT rules. But anyway, I’m assuming these count tie as a half, but do you know if that’s the case?
  8. If they are going for a more experienced coaching staff, I wonder if he tries to reunite with James Patrick. It looks like he’s coach towards the middle/bottom of the pack, first year with a new team in the WHL. Otherwise, it doesn’t really look like he has “his guy” anymore, maybe Chris Taylor who was on the NJ staff. I’ll be very curious to see what new blood he winds up with as at least one of the assistants.
  9. With what we’ve run out there in the last decade, pretty much every game next year, the coach with more wins will be behind our bench. Sadly, the rare game where that isn’t the case is the in-division matchup with Florida.
  10. I’m not convinced there is a right hire for that group.
  11. I can’t resist saying what I did in the firing thread. Lindy Ruff is the Sabres’ best coach since Lindy Ruff. Maybe there might have been some better options out there, but I really don’t mind it. They’re not giving tryouts to first time coaches anymore.
  12. I’m half expecting to see him head to Sweden.
  13. I’m amazed he’s not at 1000 games yet. It feels like he’s been here for 20 years.
  14. Or maybe the Penguins’ issues start with them all being 95 years old.
  15. I keep getting interrupted as I try to listen. I’ve heard bits and pieces of it out of order.
  16. It’s a tale as old as time. Didn’t Casey fall off too after a bit?
  17. The statement mentions the “new Highmark Stadium”. Did they sign off on that name carrying over to the new one?
  18. He sold them some natural gas? He sold them a snickers bar? Maybe his old dodge stratus? Anything’s possible.
  19. The double negative in the second portion of that tweet is twisting my brain into knots.
  20. I did t know you could do a retroactive countdown.
  21. There are also some positives to a scoreboard collapse.
  22. I tried to be clear on what that means to me. I want the guy who wants to work to be better as opposed to the guy who cries out for help. There’s nothing wrong with asking for help, it just doesn’t do any good doing so in a press conference.
  23. Accountability was the first word to immediately come to mind as I opened this thread. Even if players do want some veteran leadership brought in, I don’t want to hear them say it. I want to hear exactly what is said here, “we need to step up”. Adding and players stepping up, the two aren’t mutually exclusive, it there’s only one side that a player can take care of.
  24. So with Arizona holding onto the history of the franchise, does Doan’s kid have to stay?
  25. It’s not owners fighting owners because one guy is an owner and the other is not. The roles are about to flip, but again, it still isn’t two owners. And I’m not just talking specifically about arena deals. There is going to be plenty of backstabbing going on within each of the leagues. Hell, look who the NFL had been willing to work with for so long.
