  1. It’s just a quick hop for them over some water to get to Florida, right?
  2. They brought out a Canadian to sing the anthems? Bad choice, Florida.
  3. On a side note: I wish teams had the decency to not announce trades today… unless they’re trying to hide it behind the real story of the day.
  4. So Ullmark for Kastelic, korpisalo, and a month or two of Tyler Burtuzzi? I guess there’s some value in bringing that pick back. And Ullmark is essentially back in Buffalo now. He should have taken that deal to LA last year.
  5. His line about Messier winning six and Subban going to one once… that was hilarious
  6. I found myself asking similar questions about a few different players in those lists.
  7. The coach’s challenge really need to go or at least be modified. The challenge does not exist for garbage like that.
  8. Ahhh, I was thinking of them being stuck in their old southeast division, or whatever it was called. But anyway, people clearly missed the “without relocating” part.
  9. I had a random conversation yesterday about teams with awful names. It got me thinking about how often a team has just straight up changed their name simply because they didn’t like it and not due to relocating. A few different scenarios came to mind, but in my book, none of them meet this criteria. Redskins and Indians: We all know the reasons here. Strangely enough, I think both teams now have dumb names. I was hoping the new Washington owner would scrap it and find something new. Ducks: Technically a name change, but dropping the mighty isn’t enough for me. Hornets/Bobcats/Pelicans: This one is a special scenario where one city wants their old name back while another changes the name a few years after moving. Bullets/Wizards: Was there actual public pressure here or did they actually do it on their own? Utah will have a name change, but that’s obviously due to relocation. I'm sure there are plenty from the early to mid 1900s, especially in baseball and football. So is there anything from the more modern era, say from the 70s and beyond?
  10. I'd suspect a little from column A and a little from column B, honestly.
  11. I had a work social event yesterday. I was joking with one person about this project we worked on that went completely south because the guy running it never responded to anything. She mentioned that at last contact with the guy, she was about to go out on maternity leave. I had to one up her. Since that point, I now have two kids.
  12. I’d look at it from the other direction. They want someone they think Buffalo wants so they try to sweeten the pot a bit.
  13. A better question might be why do they want to get us out of their way on the draft.
  14. @Weave, wasn’t I just reading about your exchange student a couple weeks ago?
  15. I just saw a clip from the LA kings about them going back to the 90s logo, narrated by Keifer Sutherland. The very next thing I saw online was the story that Donald Sutherland died. What a strange coincidence.
  16. I don’t know if it’s been mentioned already or not. That guy was picked by Minnesota. That pick was traded there in the Greenway deal.
  17. Skinner to Toronto would make so much sense. They don’t need to score more goals. But it’s Toronto, so it’s perfect.
  18. And then watch as no one moves their pick.
  19. I wonder if it also gives some of those vultures more time to poach the trademarks on certain names. I’d imagine that the team claims as many as possible, but people still seem to find a way.
  20. Washington fans also like Utah?
  21. That and the powder blue look the same on my phone.
  22. Did they just take the same exact color scheme as Seattle?
  23. Home owners and car insurance shopping. I'll like the end result, but it's a bit of a headache.
