  1. It’s so ridiculously early for a standings assessment like that. Just look at how many teams they leap frog with one single win. In the big picture, would that one win really mean all that much? What does matter is that they dug themselves a big hole to start and have rebounded nicely from it. Can they keep that going and continue to climb?
  2. You’re right, they’ll never be 100% healthy.
  3. And yet if they are ever 100% healthy, Geerston will still somehow be in the roster.
  4. I will never understand why we always have to have this winning percentage argument. All I know is that I sure am glad the Sabres went 3-0-3 over the last 6 instead of 4-2-0.
  5. It just goes to show you how important it is to get games into overtime. That 3 game “losing streak” has now turned into 9 points in 6 games, a 123 point pace.
  6. Is anyone familiar with Diwali? They moved a festival to the park just behind my house this year. The music they’re playing is absurdly loud. There are a couple events out there during the year and nothing has ever come close to this volume level. My kids can’t sleep because it sounds like I’m in an apartment and the people upstairs are having a party. Is that level of noise typical for a Diwali event?
  7. Ice cream. End of discussion.
  8. When did they change that rule? It always used to be 2, 5, and a game.
  9. At least he’s going into a spot that more fits him as opposed to being left to sink on the 4th line.
  10. Levi and Leinonen are the only ones on the list that have long term plans. Everyone else is filler. Maybe there’s a hope for a return to form from UPL, but everyone else is JAG. Ellis is the one that is impossible to read right now. That one is a scratch off lottery ticket.
  11. It makes so much more sense too. Was it Rickey that tried to sell of his hat to the highest bidder? They should just put the player’s face on the plaque and then a bunch of tiny logos below him.
  12. I’ve seen far worse stay as a goal.
  13. Why didn’t you ask them? As long as you don’t take a dickish tone I bet they probably would have answered you.
  14. I have this spot I drive daily where people coming from a side street have to turn right onto my road and then make an immediate left. Every damn day someone pulls out directly in front of me so that they can then stop for that left. There's no one behind me, just wait. But yeah, they have to get home 5 seconds earlier so it's worth risking the accident.
  15. They’ve put 1 of the last 7 games into the loss column. If they can continue to keep games out of there, they’ll be in good shape. Call it the islanders approach.
  16. Well this is thrilling.
  17. Ok, that’s hilarious. These are the moments where they need player chosen goal songs.
  18. Why have there been so many of these crappy starts followed up by strong seconds? I feel like they’ve reversed it a few times too, with the opponent never getting any shots in the first. Is it happening a lot around the league?
  19. And there’s always this quick rush to declare a winner. Your typical trade usually involves one team making a move for today and the other making a move for tomorrow. The 24/7 news cycle mentality of judging it right now is always going to lead to the same conclusion.
  20. Does anyone remember where the Sabres were last year after 9 games, also after an 0-3 start?
  21. Do we actually know what his injury was?
  22. Dunne played this past game. Please come back, Greenway.
  23. Yes, that’s when St Louis would be able to send him down… assuming no one else out a claim in on him. Those teams would get a shot at adding him to the NHL roster first. The Sabres won’t do it before then though, especially since we are so close. The line is actually 30 days or 10 games played. I have no idea how those games played are counted for goalies since he’s in a jersey each night (maybe not this past game?).
  24. The options of what to do with Ellis will open up a bit in about a week. At that point St Louis or anyone else claiming him would have to put him on the NHL roster. The Sabres will have the 3-headed monster at least until that point.
