Winning even just a quarter of your overtime games is significant. That would be taking 1.25 points per game, a 102 point pace. If you win more of those remaining regulation games than you lose, you’re in the playoffs. Keeping games out of the middle column will take you places.

I had to go and look it up that Noronen pick turned into Enroth. So they got a couple extra years of “decent” goaltending out of that situation. Marty turned in TJ Brennan, so yeah, less return there. If anyone gets traded now, I’d hope for a bit more of a hockey trade, but who knows if that’s out there.

The first two were blown points. Then the next two they took 3/4 points in a pair of games where they were down by 2 goals. These things have a way of balancing out. These points matter.
