I feel like the 6th round pick probably sees the writing on the wall. He’s thrilled to be drafted and knows it’s an uphill battle.

No one wants the 7th round pick and you might as well use it instead of just passing (if you can even do that). And this “lower pick” thing come up all the time. Not all drafts are created equal… particularly when you’re already 6 rounds deep in one of them.

I see the title and was hoping for an alien tie in. -
Why would the league reject it?

Sort of like the Eichel trade? Buffalo got a proven 20 goal scorer, a valued prospect, a first round pick, and a second round pick. Just about the only similarity is that they did have to include a 3rd round pick along with him.

That’s a trade that tells you there wasn’t much serious interest out there. And I get it, the question marks are very big.

I drive past a school most mornings where a cop is directing traffic. Yesterday there was a different officer out there than normal. I was first in line waiting as he was getting cars out of the school parking lot. I couldn’t actually see these cars because he had left his cruiser in a strange spot, blocking the line of sight. He signaled me to go and as I was moving a car suddenly flew across right in front of me. The cop never reacted in any way, so I have no clue if this car completely ignored his direction or the officer wasn’t paying attention. Bring back the regular guy.

And if Edmonton matches those offers, this move by Armstrong is essentially the equivalent of a rejected trade offer. But hey, that’s also an example of a GM trying to make his team better. Oh, but you’ve also made an enemy.

I was driving earlier today and a hawk swooped out of a tree and flew parallel to me, matching my speed. It was a very cool sight.

From $170 million to almost $2 billion in 14 years. That’s insane.

It wouldn't change the draft rules with regards to free agency. That's all set in stone the second you're drafted.

I’d dismiss the suit immediately due to his first name. I would be an incredible judge, right?

Ridiculous beard?

How exactly does that work with Tavares?
-
Oh man, I wish Drury or Pandolfo had done that while I was at BU.
-
There’s a lot of that to go around at his area of that draft.

That’s the one place in this team for the upcoming season where there really isn’t any space. I can’t see anyone getting a surprise roster spot on the bottom two lines.

I’m always amazed by the lack of common courtesy among most people. We had a 3 month home extension project going on at the house across the street from us. The contractor wanted to put the construction dumpster in their driveway. That was inconvenient to them so instead he had to leave it across from my driveway, which was the side of their yard. I’m the corner lot on a culdesac with 5 other houses. That dumpster made it very difficult to get o it of our driveway. It also created a blind turn on/off of our street. So instead of being a slight inconvenience to that one home owner, they made the choice to instead create an inconvenience for 6 houses. Maybe I’m an extreme rarity, but if I have to choose between inconveniencing just myself or multiple other people, I’m going to suck it up and pick myself.

I was looking at Sabres info on puckpedia (I miss cap geek or whatever the second name was). I love how a certain player is somehow still listed:

I got some campaign mail yesterday for a Maryland senate race. I have never lived in Maryland or even any state bordering Maryland.

There’s been a few things in recent years. I originally chalked it up to Covid labor, but I do think it’s mostly the ownership change now.

I think I’m officially done with my place. Today they tell me they can’t do an inspection until next week Friday.

I had an eye doctor appointment today and the office was in suite 420. I food order for lunch was #420. I think the universe is sending me a sign, man.

It's only an ELC, but I'm sure he'll be doing plenty of breeding after that.

I had a trusted place I was going to for a while. Ownership changed eventually and suddenly my car started to need random work. It was getting old at that point, so it may very well have been a coincidence. Still, it didn’t sit well with me.
