  1. Please tell me it's the old "Leader of the Sack" poster.
  2. I'd stay away from Hossa's jock. Things might get really itchy.
  3. I keep a log of every single thing done to that car in a notebook in the glovebox, along with all the paperwork. It's nice to shove that in their face when they try to scam you. A few years back I had a dealership put the wrong size tires on my car. At that point I knew nothing about tires so I missed it. Months later when I complained to them, they tried to say that they just matched what was previously on the car. "Oh, really? Here's my previous receipt..." That was when I started keeping the log. The paperwork's always there, but it's much easier to find it thanks to that notebook.
  4. I had to get mine inspected yesterday at a place I never go to (a Firestone shop). It was amazing watching them try to scam me out of as many dollars as possible. I always eavesdrop as much as possible when waiting at those places and they were doing the same exact routine with every single customer. It's a different part each time, but every single person got the suggestion to have some random obscure part replaced. It was night and day compared to the local mechanic shop I deal with. The best part was when they suggested I need new tires even though my current ones are practically new already.
  5. Would that be the more generic story that talks about a few of these types of sales over the years? I didn't see that until now, just the quick summary piece that was pretty much cut and paste out of their bios. But anyway, it was kind of interesting to read through. I can't imagine that the real estate and development reporter is all that used to getting all that many eyes on his stuff.
  6. I'm always surprised that people take anything away from watching these beer league clips. Andrew Peters could dangle in those leagues. Obviously the kid has talent, but I'd much rather see it from world junior or his swedish league highlights.
  7. After reading what either paper wrote, I'm not so sure we can consider that to be "devoting resources". The articles are about as long as this post.
  8. This is all, of course, assuming that Skinner would want to stay.
  9. This reminds me of something going on in my neighborhood. Apparently two river otters have taken up residence in our retention pond. So far I've only seen one distant cell phone video, so hopefully I can find a way to get a closer look to see if that is in fact what they are.
  10. It’s a hockey family in the area. One of the brothers used to be a part of the video scoutin department and last time I checked, works with the program they ha e going at harbor center.
  11. Happy birthday to me!
  12. I think you nailed it right here. Whether or not we like the deal is meaningless at this point. It is done and that cannot be changed. All that matters now is what these guys can do for this team. Hopefully that is what we can discuss in here. After all of that, I think we can dismiss the cap discussion, at least when it comes to Sobotka. Berglund could be more of an issue since he has 4 years left. This team doesn't have any current cap issues over the remaining two years of Sobotka's deal. I think you nailed the rest of what is needed from these guys as well. Ideally, they help to give this team a little more depth. We need them to be supplemental pieces to this team. In terms of the trade, that's also what they were.
  13. No #2 is probably a good thing. Might not mix well with all that itching
  14. Just be glad Eichel never wore an A at BU. Their official color is scarlet.
  15. I wonder if they could still work out another deal similar to the Skinner one. The ammo is there, especially after seeing this price.
  16. Next trivia question: What did happen during those three hours?
  17. Was it a full NMC or one of the limited ones?
  18. The second those arbitration figures came out, this was the most likely scenario. They keep him around without breaking their back on the price tag and he gets a sizeable raise. They then move him at the deadline and he hits free agency during the summer.
  19. Sadly he'll never be able to play in to pro bowl since he'll be in the superbowl every single season.
  20. Does this mean I need to buy stock in Sahlen's?
  21. Now we just need to get rid of the lame "Botterill hate CHL players" crap. People should probably look up where Skinner played.
  22. This move is good for an extra 0.5 powerplays brought on by a dive per game.
  23. It really is just a matter of semantics at this point, but 11 and I both seem to be looking it from the angle that farm system and prospect pool are a different thing. With that, using both interchangeably leads to some issues. I think that might just be an issue with whoever slapped the title onto that story. But whatever, once we move past that, it's very safe to assume that this specific ranking is very heavily weighted by our top 2.
  24. It's a combination of the two. Pittsburgh hasn't drafted in the first round since 2014. The Craps traded away all of their 1st-3rd round picks in 2017, the draft that would populate a good portion of this list. Nashville did the same with this year's draft. They have provided minimum development to him at this point. Everything that Dahlin currently is, is a product of things done outside the Sabre organization.
  25. I'd be more willing to count Mittlestadt, but I'm with you on Dahlin. Absolutely nothing of his current status can be credited to anything Buffalo Sabre.
