  1. I think the depth does have significant value to the organization. We've seen plenty of cases where that first wave of recalls can make or break a season. Jason Pominville is the perfect example. I'm not going to say that is who either guy is, especially since for every Pominville, there's probably 10 Chris Thorburns (granted, a guy who stuck around for a long, respectable career).
  2. I actually did that with the PS2 earlier in the summer. It was a nice change of pace. And I'll be all over Red Dead Redemption too. I pick up at most 2 new games a year and that one will be my first of 2018.
  3. When it comes to waiver claims, the whole thing is such a crap shoot. I think they'd clear too, but all it takes is one GM who has always been enamored with a certain player since he was drafted. Is Darcy still in the Phoenix organization?
  4. The kid must have a bunch of uncles if it can be a once per year thing.
  5. I still have a functioning PS2 and all of the original PS games that I liked. So it won't be a purchase I'll be making. I feel like they've reissued the so called "classic versions" of their biggest games on the newer systems, so most should already be available if you really want them. Still, I'll be curious to see if Metal Gear Solid winds up on that machine. The combo of that and FFVII would make for a ton of sales.
  6. Why do cats always get crazy names?
  7. That's the equivalent of Lesean McCoy being a full go in his offseason two-hand touch league.
  8. Isn't there something where the players aren't actually under contract with the teams, but with the league itself? Or was that from the old league as well?
  9. So does he wind up taking Corey Coleman's job? It's kind of funny if that's the case.
  10. I'm not so sure I'd say it's the bottom roster guys. It seems like it would probably be more aimed at guys who are fighting for one of the depth spots, the first wave of call-ups.
  11. I've come to expect it from you.
  12. People are always looking for nicknames. I feel like you just stumbled onto a perfect one.
  13. Once we get this game out of the way, does that get us to the point where they send most of the major junior guys back to their teams? I feel like they usually do that after maybe a week of camp.
  14. Did they get the bike from the Ryan brothers? If those two could ride it, I'm pretty sure all three can ride together.
  15. The full list provided was either expiring contracts or toxic situations. I'm not comfortable throwing O'Reilly under the same label as Hoffman, but I will call it a case where the relationship between team and player was pretty much done. These are all scenarios that limit the number of suitors.
  16. Mahomes is surrounded by more weapons than an army base. It's interesting to see what a guy can do when he's handed all the tools, as opposed to when he's given nothing but an allen wrench. And I'm really not trying to make a cheap pun there. It's the first tool that came to mind since I've got a stack of them from all of the crappy pieces of furniture I've put together.
  17. I assumed it was a photoshop at first.
  18. Over the last two days I've seen at least 4 cars with dogs hanging out the driver side window. The most recent one today was a golden, so pretty damn big dog to have on your lap while you're driving. Cops would pretty much have to pull you over if they saw this, right?
  19. I thought it was the guy that stole the Hummel
  20. The whole thing is so unpredictable. There are countless guys each year who clear that are in this same boat, guys who the fans think would never make it through. Personally, I'm in favor of keeping them on the roster and sending down the younger waiver-free guys (except for the Eichels and Dahlins of the world). Depth is too important to mess around with. For the young guys who deserve to be up, that situation usually takes care of itself with all of the inevitable injuries.
  21. And to add to that: At the start of the league year, every player under an NHL contract counts as being with the big team. A move needs to be made to send them to the AHL. So it doesn't matter if a guy was in the minors at the end of the previous season. Everything starts over.
  22. What if it's one of those "1000 ways to..." kind of deals? They could be going for style points as opposed to stealth.
  23. Yes.
  24. He's improved in all categories except explosiveness.
  25. If anything, I'd say they initially got better but then returned back to where they started. So it's not so much that he's made them worse, he just hasn't made them better.
