  1. This is Lynn's second season as the coach in San Diego. Last season they finished with the same record as a Bills. I'm comfortable calling that year a wash when comparing the two. So really, you're down to a 5-2 season vs a 2-5 season. I need to see how that plays out before I crown one guy over the other. The whole grading process right now pretty much boils down to one side poorly handling a QB situation that the other side did not have to handle.
  2. Why can't you buy a lottery ticket with a credit card?
  3. Yeah, I was thinking that while I posted it. But I can at least pin my hopes to the fact that they can at least remember a world without Lebron James.
  4. I feel like you need to allow a little more time for this one. Lynn hasn't done anything yet. He needs to keep this season in gear and then I'd say it's worth the question. The QB thing though? Yeah, that's definitely a huge factor.
  5. I like how all the kids go for a James jersey (I'm assuming he's 23), but the old guys actually have some sense of individuality. Now if only those two had found a way to go with Jordan jerseys, that would have been good for a few laughs.
  6. And he was the 7th overall draft pick on 2006. He was expected to be good as opposed to 9th rounder Moulson.
  7. Well there's one hell of a premature statement.
  8. Who gets the half goal? Ok, of course it's McDavid.
  9. And what about captain Eichel? He's so selfish that he can't get past his Boston-born Laker hate and get out there with his teammates? Selfish bastard.
  10. They probably do have to decide whether to order more white or blue Dahlin jerseys for the Sabre store.
  11. They currently have two spare forwards, right? I really don't see any reason to call anyone up... unless there's an injury, then I'll just delete this and back away quietly.
  12. Almost run off the road two separate times by morons who decided to just take my lane while they were directly next to me. Than an extra hour on the commute probably due an accident probably caused by one of those two people. That's always a great way to start a day where you're waiting on some important news.
  13. Two more games on the road trip and then it'll be time to see if they'll actually do anything. They're going to avoid transactions while out west unless absolutely necessary (ie. injuries).
  14. I've been going back and forth on that one. His head does turn slightly. I can't really tell though if that's a glance towards the puck or not.
  15. Vegas born? That's an odd tag when the two guys mentioned are from Quebec and Ontario. Any why don't they yell that one like they're yelling the rest of the post?
  16. If there can be two NHL teams in Canada named the Canadians (yes, I realize how I spelled it), they can name a hockey team anything. It's not quite Rough Riders vs. Roughriders, but it's close. And before you get excited inkman, I'm not suggesting naming a women's team the rough riders. Seriously though, yes, I'm not crazy about the name either. Actually, it kind of reminds me of naming a mascot Gritty.
  17. Once we get to the point where you're not longer allowed to touch any player on the offense, you pretty much have to focus on making interceptions, right?
  18. Take a look at the Amerk stats. These guys' number are pretty heavily skewed towards the powerplay (Olofsson 7 of 12, Pilut 7 of 10). In fact, all of the top scorers on the team have very PP-favored numbers. That doesn't really scream NHL ready or production that is going to help the Sabres score goals. There's still a lot of work to be done here with these guys. edit: From a numbers perspective, I'm definitely keeping eye on Nylander with 7 points in 6 games, but only 3 on the PP. That may very well be of more use to the Sabres shortly, especially with the extra years of experience on this side of the pond.
  19. I feel like this one qualifies for excessive use of exclamation points
  20. I don’t think he’s interested in signing anywhere at this point. He’s obviously got a different goal at this point. This isn’t meant to be a shot at him, I just don’t see playing football being a part of what he wants to do right now, especially with the time that has passed, as you mentioned.
  21. My guess is that Peterman was about to be off the roster once Anderson got up to speed. Sadly, that plan was thrown out the window thanks to the injury. Say what you want about Peterman, but at this stage, to go with two QBs unfamiliar with the playbook just isn't doable, so he's not going away at this point. Maybe they can find another QB on the scrap heap, but that still requires a few more weeks of Peterman on the main roster.
  22. And that's exactly what we should be focusing on. Question the plan itself, not the subsequent moves made under that plan. It reminds me of this conversation I have with the wife on nearly a daily basis: Her: Did you call your mom? Me: No. Her: What did she say? She's asking the wrong question.
  23. Yeah, I don't mean to suggest it's the key thing, but it all adds together. It's so early right now, but I can't remember the last time we had a young guy start off immediately at the top of the AHL. Hopefully he can sustain this beyond just one week because it's one hell of a luxury to have a legit professional project waiting in the wings. That's the kind of thing that moves a team out of the dregs of the NHL.
  24. Has McCarron made any comments on this since he was moved? I don't want to ignore the possibility that he didn't want to be here once he lost out on the job. Either way, it's not like they moved out the second coming of Frank Reich when they made that deal. Like you said, they cleared out some more money. They had to spend some money to make any of those improvements. As SDS suggested, setting themselves up with the most assets and cap space beyond this year has been their main objective this entire time. They could strengthen the depth of the offense, but it comes at the cost of that build up of assets. It's completely reasonable to disagree with that approach, but it's clearly what they're doing here. It's not fun to watch, but this approach can't be given a final judgement until we see what they do with those assets.
  25. I feel like Montreal always starts out well. Then Carey Price gets hurt and the train goes off the tracks. Wash, rinse, and repeat.
