  1. I briefly turned that on and now I wish I had stuck with it. In a way, I kind of wish Finland had one, but it looks to me like they made the right call. The women’s game could really use two more countries leveling the field a bit. Maybe it is starting to get there.
  2. And then there’s the laugh at the end of the trailer right before the title reveal. That one is a much more stunning moment for me than the title.
  3. If we’re going to include Butcher, we may as well list every single free agent in the history of the game who signed somewhere else. It’s not like they ever held his rights.
  4. Just walk out front of the arena and pick one up from a scalper for pennies.
  5. I would imagine that McLellan would want to keep everything low key for now and allow his son to have his moment. Who knows if junior will ever get that chance again.
  6. I just looked back at this comment because TSN has a story posted about. I'm not quite sure why they do, especially since the number isn't even correct. They drafted first after his rookie year, but they didn't win that lottery. But really, what this whole thing boils down to is that Hall has pretty much always been on crappy teams. I'm not so sure it's something I'd want to draw attention to.
  7. It could be worse, like say, hitting a gas line like they did out here yesterday.
  8. I'd imagine that there has to be some sort of inspection of the balls (feel free to laugh) each time before they go back into the machine for a redraw. The whole process probably approaches the length a movie as opposed to some 30 minute tv special. The one thing I really wish they'd get rid of is the one dead combination that isn't assigned to any team. I realize it cleans up the calculation of the probabilities, but really, just give that one extra one to the last place team. That combo is very unlikely to pop up, but why even have it as a possibility?
  9. And it doesn't matter what you already have. Basic human nature is to want more. The kid pulling carts at Walmart wants more money and so does Pegula.
  10. Soundgarden wasn't too far off

  12. Ahh the wonders of twitter and people wanting to be the first to break something
  13. And I'll add that BU's strength and conditioning program has always been top notch. Even if he's there for just one year, he's going to be listed at a significantly higher number at this time next year.
  14. So maybe it was just the transition those two teams (Rags/Canucks) had from Vigneault <--> Tortorella. He was a vacation compared to Torts.
  15. A building a few block just had a nice little explosion that so far sounds like it was a gas line. That should make for a crazy day. It felt like something was dropped on our building's roof. edit: https://www.wral.com/durham-explosion-1-person-dead-after-gas-explosion-in-downtown/18317583/
  16. So you're saying you wouldn't put Sidney Crosby in Pittsburgh? McDavid in Edmonton? Dahlin in Buffalo? It's as crooked as it gets.
  17. Why wouldn't it? I never did trust Don Henley.
  18. I prefer Rasmussen, no matter how little that name provided to this team.
  19. Isn't Vigneault one of the guys that has a looser country club type feel to his locker room? I feel like this team could use someone a bit tougher than that.
  20. I've never seen as much pollen as we have this year. Certain portions of my drive this morning looked like cartoon nuclear fallout. Less tree sperm please.
  21. You should take over the portion of the draft coverage where they list a player's comparable. I get so sick of every single draftee being compared to a hall of famer. They set the bar impossibly high and then it leads to the constant over evaluation of prospects that dominates most fan board's thoughts of their farm system. Just once, I want to see a player's comparable listed as Marek Zagrapan.
  22. The old limit on how far you could jump up always seemed a bit pointless to me. If you're going to do a lottery, you might as well do it without that limit. That said, I'm with you on not having it at all. Sometimes teams just suck. Ottawa had no reason to tank this year, but they still finished dead last. For every one year where that's happening, we've probably had 5 or 6 where the worst team got their solely on their own incompetence. I'd say that the current lottery has had more of an impact on the trade market than it has on the so called tanking.
  23. But we have to combat tanking, the practice that has existed in all of these leagues since drafts were first held. Honestly, I’d just eliminate them all together, but the two leagues like it for the drama.
  24. The year after Hall was drafted, New Jersey won the lottery, moving up from 8th to 4th. Who did they draft with that pick? Adam Larsson.
  25. Retroactively McDavid
