As if Tiger's golf game wasn't bad enough now this
shrader replied to Sabre fan's topic in The Aud Club
You’ve seen the calves, right? -
Who knows. But we do have to remember that the Hobey will vary from year to year depending on the field of players each year. One year there could be a stud in the field, the next could be more of a level playing field. The award also has a character aspect that the voters do value significantly. The non-center Gerbe more than likely would have won it without a one game suspension he had for repeated butt ending penalties. I’d suspect that with Bryson serving as a captain as a junior, he’s high on that character list. They also are a sucker for guys who pass on signing and return for their senior year.
-
Good luck to those guys ever finding work again.
-
To be fair, Butcher stayed for four years of college. Take a look at his first three years compared to Bryson’s 3. You’ll be surprised.
-
For me it depends on both how they finish the playoffs and also who/if anyone they are able to res-sign. If they have that mass exodus and only get to the second round? That's not enough. I'd say making it to the final at an absolute minimum IF they have that mass exodus. There's a whole lot of ifs for this one.

Where's the bar set for success on this one? They're the talk of the town right now, but they've still got a very long way to go.

A local school always is listed as the host, but there's no way they're the driving force behind this one. Some of the bigger schools with more influence my play a bigger role in other cities, but that will never be the case here.

And no matter where this story ends, it will still be loaded with "what could have happened if...". But where ever he finishes, it's been a hell of a lot of fun to watch. I don't like playing the who is the best all time game, but any chance you get to watch someone who enters into that discussion, it's something you need to enjoy while you have it. -

It's tough to gauge, but Tiger's true measure might just be how many times he kept those others out of the top spot, particularly Michelson. Two of his wins came while Tiger was basically gone due to the personal and health stuff. He's a guy that probably would be in the top players of all time, but isn't simply because of Tiger. Those other guys wind up with a few more too if he's not around. I'm not so sure how the numbers stack up for Jack's list, how well their careers overlap. -
This event needs to rotate between Boston, Minnesota, and Denver each year. Maybe mix in Detroit or Milwaukee. They’re a niche sport (not that there’s anything wrong with that) and they need to embrace that.

He still has a bit of a following when he’s out there for senior events. He was here in Cary, NC last year and they made a whole big deal about where he parks his RV during the event.

And another thread goes off the rails. This time because someone admitted to character assassination due simply to not liking the sport. Pretty clearly a case of trolling. But anyway, Sabel I won’t speak for ..., but it seemed pretty clear to me that he was saying just because people who work a shift or schedule that makes it harder to be around their kids as often as most would like, that doesn’t make them lousy or absentee parents. We all know people who live this way and it’s ridiculous to throw them under that bus. You’re taking issue with the wrong post here. -

What do you think happens when your job is one where you bounce from course to course on a weekly basis? I know a guy playing on the European tour and guess what, his wife is alone with the kids most of the time. And that tour is even tougher on the travel as they're bouncing around between Europe, Asia, and Africa. As for the rest of your post, thank you for admitting that you're just trying to rain on anyone else's parade, talking about a topic you don't care about one bit. -

And take a look at the rest of that leaderboard today. It’s littered with top ten guys from the world rankings. He didn’t just win, he outplayed the best players in the world on Sunday in Augusta. The two worst rounds of the day from day from top ten finishers? The two guys who played with Tiger. That’s another “just like the old days” moment from this round. -

I see that moment with his son and that’s enough for me. -

Over the top character judgement. It’s what we do. Some people just don’t like him. That’s just the way it is. -
He did play a year with their national team before that year in the minors and the leap into the playoffs. But either way, very impressive (and that undefeated season with Cornell). Why am I thinking that there was another goalie with a similar start, but with a slightly less successful ending?

Like him or not, I’m not quite sure we’ve ever seen anyone else who has had a bigger influence on his/her sport than Tiger has. Just watching that reception from the other players today tells you how much he means to their game. -
I briefly turned that on and now I wish I had stuck with it. In a way, I kind of wish Finland had one, but it looks to me like they made the right call. The women’s game could really use two more countries leveling the field a bit. Maybe it is starting to get there.

And then there’s the laugh at the end of the trailer right before the title reveal. That one is a much more stunning moment for me than the title. -
Updated Todd McLellan OUT of the Running Sabres HC Position
shrader replied to Brawndo's topic in The Aud Club
If we’re going to include Butcher, we may as well list every single free agent in the history of the game who signed somewhere else. It’s not like they ever held his rights. -
Just walk out front of the arena and pick one up from a scalper for pennies.

I would imagine that McLellan would want to keep everything low key for now and allow his son to have his moment. Who knows if junior will ever get that chance again. -
I just looked back at this comment because TSN has a story posted about. I'm not quite sure why they do, especially since the number isn't even correct. They drafted first after his rookie year, but they didn't win that lottery. But really, what this whole thing boils down to is that Hall has pretty much always been on crappy teams. I'm not so sure it's something I'd want to draw attention to.

It could be worse, like say, hitting a gas line like they did out here yesterday.
