  1. That was the team that had the plane crash a few years back, right?
  2. And not only are they both pending UFAs, but they're also destined to return back to form next year.
  3. Can we just pretend the rest never happened and jump straight to Krueger?
  4. It's a bit of a loaded question though. There are any number of reasonable reasons for another coaching search to begin. But yeah, in that quick failure scenario you're suggesting, Botterill is out the door along with him.
  5. Once Krueger retires after winning multiple Cups? Sure.
  6. I wonder how often a GM interviews a guy who coached him for his head coaching job. Sure things can change over 15+ years, but you'd have to imagine that Botterill had a very good idea already of what Lindy brings to the table.
  7. What exactly are we doing here? I can't tell if you're trying to be helpful, a smart ass, or something else. Below is the whole exchange in this thread, which suggests that they were indeed asking about signing him as opposed to what Krueger's impact on him was. That's all based on the response from @Brawndo though. Maybe he can chime in on what the question actually was. I'm really not trying to be a pain here. But as someone who didn't hear a second of the interview, this Bove tweet is an odd one that says absolutely nothing. This is where character limits fail us.
  8. Was there a post I missed? The tweet I saw was (forgive me if I missed/added a word) "someone asked a question about Yakupov". There's zero context there.
  9. If that name ever takes off, I'd be worried about the flyers signing Sirhan Sirhan.
  10. See, this is the exact opposite read I get from where the thread went after that comment. It turned to a "would you sign him" angle instead of what you're suggesting.
  11. I'd imagine that there's still a decent number of guys left from that team who might take issue with that statement.
  12. Thanks to the head start here, I got them all. Off the top of my head I can go backward to Sator, so I won't hurt PA's game by finishing off his list.
  13. ... and what was the question?
  14. I'm going to go ahead and rule out Hunwick since he's nothing more than fodder. At this point, Risto is the second most experienced defenseman on this team, second to only Bogosian. With 6 seasons under his belt, I'd say he's graduated from that young player label at this point, regardless of his actual age. Edit: Oops, forgot Scandella, so make him #3. Still, the point stands.
  15. I was hoping for one of those online quizzes where you list them (what's that site called?). I could never do them in order, but I'd be curious to see how many I could name.
  16. I don't know if they'll remember that one, but they'll certainly remember the inferior drooling goof who constantly stared at them and ran to the computer to post about them.? And then when they're down this way, they'll convince my mockingbirds to take their attacks to a new level, finally eliminating that other message board fool.
  17. I'm guessing that SDS's point is that the portion right before what he bolded from Callaway's post, being the "best human being possible" makes the rest redundant. You take care of that part, you've already got everything covered. But anyway, having not set foot in that stadium in a very long time and having lost interest in the team, I've always been out of the loop on this one. How did he get to that iconic fan status (if such a thing really exists) that he has had in recent years?
  18. If you keep doing that, I'm going to get to the point where I want to call the guy Nordberg.
  19. Seeing as how he has no source, would this be like dividing by zero where there is no real answer?
  20. Am I completely making things up or have I seen more of these long term surgeries around the league this offseason than normal? It makes me wonder if teams/players are leaning a bit more towards procedures that might fall a bit closer to the "elective" label.
  21. I won't say all the time, but he does that a lot when he edits posts.
  22. I think we may have a winner.
  23. If it's the one I'm thinking it was, I'd say yeah, it's probably better to link to something that is incredibly long. If nothing else, it saves us from that inevitable moment where multiple people quote the whole thing.
  24. Don't worry. They'll report a different front runner on Tuesday, then they'll have another new one on Wednesday.
