Just when you canadians have a chance to prove you're better than us, you go and worship bouncyball too. You blew your shot, canada.

My wife is pretty good at keeping the mileage down on her car, maybe 10k a year. But yours puts her to shame.

If anything, these two trades have gone a long way towards completely confusing us on what the actual trade value of a defenseman is.

Wait, they put carpet on top of carpet? With the top layer being shag, I picture you sinking right into that floor. Did you happen to find any small animals or maybe even small children when you removed it?

Are the Sabres switching to Royal Blue for their Jerseys?
shrader replied to Brawndo's topic in The Aud Club
Does that translate well to tv though? All I can picture is that day where the news anchor screws up and wears a green shirt. -
I've always liked the split squad format, at least at the very start of preseason. While you have everyone in camp, get in two games either back to back or even in different locations to get everyone some action. And from the finance side, you can sell a few extra tickets. That window of availability closes quickly though, once you send guys back to juniors or when AHL camps start.

They could also do something incredibly crazy and actually bring on a new defenseman or two in any trade they make.

I think a few would welcome that style of hockey. -
Based on the fact that dudacek's recap of the GR interview didn't mention Zegras at all, it makes me think that they do in fact pick him. Smokescreens are fun.

Ottawa gets a cap hit from that buyout too. Looking back, I'm a little surprised that Toronto was able to get away with not taking back some of his salary when he was traded there. Otherwise, they'd be on the hook for cap hit as well.

Why was I thinking that we had Tony Granato in as an assistant for a year or two post-Lindy? Is there some other player from that era we brought in an assistant at some point? And yes, I realize the current hire is not Tony.
-
Is there anyone else who has even close to that much money invested into their top 3 D? Most of the high end guys that are popping into my head look to be on discounted deals.
-
Wasn't the hype off the charts for him when they picked him, at least relative to a later 1st round guy?
-
I had the Lebetard show on in the background on friday and Amin Elhassan said that Toronto is going to become a basketball town because all of the hockey followers there are 50+ years old. I just about fell out of my chair. I know that sports radio tends towards utter cluelessness, but that one may have taken it to a whole new level.

We may need a better shorthand version of his name than lax or laaxy. The jokes already write themselves. But anyway, they're going to need a few more Porters on this team. With the posts already talking about this young guy and that young guy about to join the team, these AHL squads never go anywhere without those vets. I realize the kids are the ones who most of us care about, but for the sake of the ogres and the inkys of the world who would like to actually see the team win, I hope we get a few more of these signings over the next month or so.

I see them report a trade in this way and I have to assume that Kahun is one of those guys who only have one name. Am I crazy to think that they should be listing the full name even in a twitter post?
-
A certain rookie goalie won the cup back in the 80s and then immediately stuck the ring in his ear so he didn't have to listen to Jeremy Roenick anymore. And speaking of that team, Ken Dryden won the cup and then won the Calder the following year. Let's see someone top that.
-
I'm the exact opposite. I won't take anything on the trip I'm enjoying. I get too caught up in the moment.
-
Why wife thought I was crazy because I got upset when they cut to commercial in the middle of the cup celebration. *****, I need to see every single scrub carry that cup. I didn't have the remote close and with the rate they were handing that thing off, I probably missed a bunch of players in the time it took me to switch over to the cable network. Edit: And I get a kick out of how much they played up the worst to first angle. I can think of another team that started out on one extreme end of the league and also did a complete 180 right around the same time of the year.

Yeah, it's definitely very easy. If it wasn't for the cut and pasted stuff, I would never see anything from twitter. People want to use it, that's fine, but it's something I have no interest in. So I'm like swamp, the syntax throws me of when I do see conversations. The one thing that absolutely drives me mad about twitter though? It's when entire articles are posted online that recap twitter discussions. How on earth do people get paid to do that? He said this, then she said that. He bounced back with this... It's modern day plagarism.

Like most things, they have their uses, but then it gets bastardized beyond recognition by the masses.
-
Ha, I wasn't even going to mention the creepy vibe from that one. Could you give me a couple thousand dollars?
-
It's bumped to the previous page already for me, so it won't cause that trouble anymore. You know, as long as no one quotes the full thing.
-
This thread is going to be unviewable until that post bumps off the first page. Each picture automatically loading slows my computed down significantly... and then the inevitable moment where someone quotes the whole thing, forcing it to load twice.

I'm going to go all out @New Scotland (NS) on this one. Some sort of trade leads us to this through the first 4 rounds: Zegras! Mastrosimone! Vlasic! Fensore! McCarthy!
