Completely unrelated to the topic, but does anyone else get an ad for Uggs at the bottom of this link? I don't know why, but it looks like they photoshopped the head of the little girl on the left onto her body backwards.

Teppo did have the surgery though. I'm not sure of the legality of the whole thing, but I feel like not showing up simply because of what is just a disagreement at this point warrants still getting paid. Having it done would force their hand. Sitting for two+ months because you need a surgery but then not actually having the surgery? It's a weird look. But like I said, I'm no lawyer.

I know we're down on Vesey, but replacing the 100% perimeter game of Olofsson with someone who will actually go to the net may actually lead to some results. If nothing else, it can't possibly decrease the production of those two wings.

Am I reading this right? He wants to have a surgery but the team doesn't want him to do it. If that's the case, actually having the surgery would probably help his appeal.

Botterill, "imperative to keep our depth on defense"

I have a secret source too. Here's a hint: I'm sitting on it. -
So that was the house you were hiding out in front of back in those days? Good to know.

And it screams hockey.

Kind of early for a drink, don't you think? Yeah yeah, I saw what time you made that post. But I can't help but picture parents drinking during their kids' 6am practices.

How would this have worked? Middle-aged PA makes a "post" and mails it out to SDS. He then hand writes multiple copies and mails those to everyone else. Two weeks later you trek out to the mailbox and finally find your response from Freeman calling you obtuse? -
So do they expect him to continue to get paid even though he never reported to the team? I've never seen any statement from his side on exactly why he's not there, but then again, I really haven't looked. If it's a health related thing, fine, but even with that you can't expect so say you'll play if and when you want to and still expect a routine salary. It's the player assistance program. It's a confidential thing so you won't get the specifics unless someone creepily leaks them out. It has to be some sort of personal or health issue. Think of it as a different type of LTIR, so that's where the cap relief comes from. More importantly, it's a program that will offer him assistance with whatever issue he may be facing. And after a quick google search, I had never read his background story before. That's some messed up stuff. I can't imagine living out a very public life under those circumstances.

His spot on the depth chart could not be more obvious. He has played 4 games and each time it was when the number of healthy bodies dictated it. He's off to the waiver wire if/when the injured finally return. If by some chance they actually decide to carry 3 spare D and no Fs at that point, I've officially lost what little faith I had left. I'd much rather have Lazar or Asplund in the press box and available as opposed to 17 different defensemen. -
I've said it a few time on here and I'm still convinced that they made the gentleman's agreement when signing him that he would never go to the AHL. That's the only reason that makes any sense to me as to why he has stayed up 100% of the time. This type of agreement can't be made on paper, but the players and agents will remember it if you make that promise and then don't follow through.

They have very little interest in playing Gilmour on their own blue line. So if they're going to mess with the head of any of the D by making him play out of position, it may as well be the guy that will never get any time at his natural position. -
And on top of all of that, draft forwards instead of those two guys and the team is still in the exact same place that they are today. Fixing the offense 3-5 years down the road does nothing for the inability to score today. What does? Trades. Players drafted at any point after Samuelsson have a combined 18 games played with a stat line of 0-0-0. Those after Johnson? No games yet. The moves are going to come at some point to reshuffle this prospect pool. Sadly for the mental health of this board, I don't see it coming until the offseason at the earliest.

Here's what's really bugging me. I gave up on the Bills for good about 5 years ago. My viewing habits for this team are starting to be an exact copy of what they were for the Bills prior to that. Each year I'd tap out at some point in the middle of the season and that cutoff hit earlier and earlier each year. I really don't want to reach that point with the Sabres, but I'm starting to see the writing on the wall. My one hope is that my interest in football, if you can call it that, was never anywhere near what it was with hockey. But still, it bothers me that my fandom may be in the same exact death spiral as this team. -
You mention cannibalism in one sentence and then expect to hear from the victim in the next?

When it doubt, just add vowels. -
The NHL landscape is littered with prospects who never wound up seeing time with the team that drafted them. That could be guys who weren't NHL level, but it also includes those that wound up being traded. Let's not forget that each of these picks is an asset. There's far more value than just will he or won't he skate for this team.

Let's face it, the 50 years didn't do that to you. It's more like the last 10 or so. -
Is it a board rule that we have to assume all short guys from BC are centers?

Getting the same three commercials over and over doesn't really sound all that different from the normal broadcast.

It's all coming to a crashing halt for that draft class all at the same time. ...Well, except the other QB from that 1st round who shall not be named.

At least she didn't go a little lower and swipe the card.
