Seems like we are looking at chest patches for each Jersey.

I’ll accept the high numbers when it’s a year of birth, but that odometer has officially rolled over to zero.
-
Haven’t they traditionally only brought guys to this camp up until they finished their ELC? That approach would explain Smith.
-
Yeah, I guess so. And you better believe they wouldn’t pass on the opportunity to sell a few tickets for those.
-
The talk about when he’ll be ready? I feel like the pretty typical model at this point for guys taken around that spot in the draft is one year in junior/college and then making the jump. I’m guessing we’ll see the same here.

I’m willing to bet that when they signed Mittelstadt, they made he guarantee that he wouldn’t be sent to the AHL. It can’t be put on paper, but it’s a gentleman’s agreement they want to honor.

I can’t count the number of Jamaicans I’ve run into in the Yukon.
-
And they’re from different countries.

But what if the 80s oilers are coached by Ditka?
-
I wonder if Justin Williams walks now that Carolina had added a different old guy leader.

Did I hear Minnesota as the school he’s heading to?

My nephew wore a bow tie to his brother’s first communion this spring. He looked just like Pee Wee Herman. His dad wasn’t very happy when I suggested it as a Halloween costume.

Listening to some local radio earlier this week, it did sound like they were going to have some trouble with Aho. They didn’t get into specifics, but basically it sounded like it could be a long drawn out process, lots of distance between both sides. That seems fairly common at the start of a negotiation, but it’s worth watching. The owner is notoriously cheap, so it could get interesting. The show I was listening to has been very high on the ball washing scale since he bought the team. So this segment really stuck out to me because it was the first time they were a bit skeptical of him. They’re starting to see the light.

I can’t wait until this one gets cleaned up. This board goes to **** when the topic becomes the poster instead of the game. Meanwhile the Sabres drafted some guy by the name of Ryan Johnson.
-
There was what, one deal the whole night? It kind of makes you wonder how much if any interest there was league-wide to move around.
-
“We liked player X more, but we instead decided to take player Y.” Call me crazy, but I don’t expect anyone to operate that way.
-
But none of it is real since those deals aren’t official for a few weeks. That’s such a screwy system.
-
That seems a bit extreme thought. It’s not that they don’t think he can be a good nhl player. They just think that some number of others stand a better chance. The kid will go in the second round and that’s still a very significant accomplishment.
-
Fortunately we have now canceled the remaining 6 rounds.

I’m not sure why we have to look at this as a desire for balance. Why can’t it just be so simple as he was the best player left on their board? Plenty of others get the need to pass on Kaliyev as well and brawndo has offered some information that would support the idea that he didn’t sit all that high with buffalo as well.

Just look at everything throughout the broadcast tonight. All of these rankings mean next to nothing, especially when it comes to the NHL draft. At some point we need to move past those and discuss the actual guy we drafted.
-
I’ve really come around lately to the thinking that the vast majority of this is about player development as opposed to talent evaluation. You’ve got your handful of elite draftees, but beyond that, it’s the right teams/coaches who develop those later picks. Its a fun one because good luck proving whatever is true.

This one’s a whole different animal. I doubt that any of us has really ever stopped to think what they typical life in the Yukon is like.
-
I watch players like that fall down the board and instead of thinking that some team’s about to get a gift, I start to wonder why he’s falling.

Thank you to the people who are now trying to throw information out there about the actual player as opposed to flaunting their own fake ratings
