I picked up some Golden Monkey this past weekend. I've got a local growler filling place that I go to maybe twice a month. I'm all over that beer any time I see it. I like belgians in general, but that one definitely sticks out to me. Speaking of the growler place and the IPA craze, I just about fell off my bar stool that day. This place has something like 30 taps and as you'd expect, probably half of them are IPAs. As I'm sitting there, this random guy walks in, heads to the bar and asks the bartender for 2 IPAs. I don't think the guy had any clue what kind of place he was at. I'm amazed that the bartender didn't react to it at all. She quickly turned around and filled from a random tap, never even said a word. I would have expected at least a "you're going to have to be more specific".

I say that if the North Stars get to pull from two rosters, they should have an extra layer of drafting where everyone else gets to claim one team. We're 1 short of 32 teams right now, so maybe the Blues draw the short straw because they just won the cup. It would be fun to see who wins the right to be paired up with Edmonton.

That's exactly why I think someone in Minnesota was doing him a favor. They weren't the slightest bit interested in him, but it's no coincidence that he finally got a contract right after they talked.

This whole process has been incredibly odd. Basically doesn't want to give any front office types a contract and wants them all to be considered at-will. I had heard a story suggesting that league rules require a GM to be under contract, but google isn't helping me verify that right now (not as easy as searching the CBA for player rules). I get the feeling that Waddell has a friend in the Minnesota front office. That friend gave him a token interview in order to force Dundon's hand a bit.

If I'm one of these hypothetica GMs, I'm pissed that they get to choose from two different rosters. On a side note, no massive contraction of any league should result in a teal jersey still in existence.
