The only return with cap implications would be Hunwick. We already know that’s not happening. The only other “return” that hits the cap is a recall from the AHL.

Outside of cases where there’s an injury not worthy of IR, carry 22 has always been fairly standard. Why carry three healthy bodies on a daily basis if they’re not going to play? Also, with the one spot open, you allow for flexibility if you need to recall someone suddenly. Then there’s the waiver implications. Even if Lazar isn’t playing, he becomes waiver eligible again if he’s been on the NHL roster for a cumulative total of 30 days (10 games if you play). There’s no point to burning up any of that count if a guys is the second one in reserve.

I'm content with this. That's a pretty solid group of 7 right there. They're not all going to stay healthy, so I'm more than happy to roll with that group in the short term. If they want to make a trade, that's fine, but they've got the luxury of time right now thanks to the fast start. They don't need to rush into any deal.

Send him back where?

That's an odd interpretation of it. They're all headed to the bench for the tv timeout. I suppose it's possible he's in that spot by design, but it looks pretty random to me. After that, Sobotka's tackled into Ullmark and it all follows from there.

Maybe it's unfair, but I look at the size difference between those two don't want to call him a comparable. I want to expect a completely different player.

"Absolutely nothing. Which is what you are about to become." edit: Sorry, it got me thinking Spaceballs.

I'm guessing that a yellow font wouldn't be too easy on the eyes.

They can't re-sign until after January 1st. If they do stick around, it's never going to be for much more than they have right now, cheap 1-2 year deals.

And all those calls of skating unmolested into the zone.

Luckily he didn't go with his original plan to give that nickname to Yuri Khmylev.

Lawrence Pilut is a Full Participant in The Amerks Practice Today
shrader replied to Brawndo's topic in The Aud Club
There's no risk there, especially if the pattern continues where Gilmour never plays. There's no sense in carrying 8 defenseman, particularly when one will never play. He'd be much better served getting ice time in Rochester and the Amerks would be better for it as well. -
Lawrence Pilut is a Full Participant in The Amerks Practice Today

He should remain in a developmental phase, but yeah, I could see this season heading down a path where they might want to move a prospect like him for a forward somewhere around the deadline. There is currently no room for him on the big club. Gilmour gets bumped once Montour is back. After that, there isn't anyone you'd be moving. Maybe he can be an injury callup, but I think they'd probably use Gilmour head of him for that. -
I saw Grigorenko's name popping up in hockeydb searches yesterday. Now it makes sense.

Just once I want to break into an all out sprint down one of those moving sidewalks, just to see how badly I face plant at the end.

If you're taking into account their future status, we need to remember that Scandella will be a UFA at the end of year (Gilmour too, although that's not all that important). If things continue down the path they're going so far, I'm thinking that we could see a prospect like Pilut or Borgen moved to add a significant forward near the deadline. They'd have to play some money games as well, but there are options (cough, Bogosian, cough).

Victor Olofsson - Time for his own Sabres thread

I love his reaction after every goal. "Yeah, yeah, whatever... drop the puck". -
Trivia game: Match the historic game with its score
shrader replied to Stoner's topic in The Aud Club
I love the idea behind this thread, but I don't even remember the score of yesterday's game. What's that you say, there was no game yesterday? My point exactly. -
And beyond that, it's incredibly early in the season. We all hope both guys continue down the same path, but you can never guarantee it. Many were saying the same thing about Pilut early last year and that derailed pretty quickly.

I definitely nailed it.

I had a similar experience with Borderlands 3 on the PS4 last month. I've played the entire series so far on the PS3, so I figured I'd have no trouble. But they tweaked the controls just enough that I was shooting like Alexi Zhitnik at first. And that's not even a PC to console switch. I've adapted now, but I'm playing the game in a completely different style than I did with the earlier ones.

They've played one actual game so far this year. I'll just assume they have the worst strength of schedule up to this point because I can't imagine anything easier than what they've been handed. Does it mean much? I don't know, but at some point they won't be able to freely pad their stats anymore.

I really hope it's a bootleg thing. The thought of officially team licensed jerseys not getting the color correct really makes me cringe. The lack of the embroidery on the buffalo is kind of a crappy move for the replicas, but getting the color wrong would take that to a whole new level.

Since it’s a sabres board can it be navy blue (for one year anyway)? Or does that defeat the purpose of a night mode? edit: And if you’re looking for examples where night mode might not work, table a look at the first post in today’s game day thread. Maybe it’s just the poster’s choice of font color, but it’s a tough read.
