It doesn’t matter what people have, they always want more. It’s basic human nature.

The team actually is required to provide some accommodations in the short term. I'm too lazy to look it up, but it is specifically outlined in the CBA what they have to provide to any player who is traded, called up, or sent down to the minors. More than likely, they're living out of a hotel in the short term.

I wonder if the PA (no, not you) has some sort of directory.

Well now that the most disappointing Sabre has been sent down to Rochester, maybe Erod enters the conversation.

There's no intention of piling on. The demographics of football are just very different than most of the northeast. McDermott's mindset is more than likely very prominent in many football circles. I thought that's part of what you were getting at with the comment about realizing that your thoughts may not line up exactly with the others in those NFL locker rooms.

I would have guessed he was younger. I didn't realize he was already 30 when he came to the team. I guess we tend to forget how different the road from Europe to the NHL was even just 25 or so years ago. Well, that and I was mixing him up with Denis Tsygurov, who is also older than I expected... and also was a Russian involved in a Buffalo/LA trade.

I always find it interesting how so many people don't realize that football is pulling people from a very different background than what we see in our neck of the woods or in the northeast in general. That faith-based outlook, it's huge around the football world. The problem is that for so many people, the second they seem something unfamiliar, they decide to mock it rather than to understand where these people are coming from. You have to think exactly like me or else I don't trust you.

All ELCs are two-way.

I can think of something more frustrating than being a healthy scratch... having a zero removed from your paycheck. Hopefully that serves a motivational purpose, but I couldn't fault the kid if he's angry about it. This is the kind of thing that can break a lot of people. Hopefully he's got the right head on his shoulders to deal with it. We will see.

Well maybe if you stopped sniffing that glue while your mom is upstairs with all the Santas...

Most unanimous?

ahhh I read it backwards. I thought he skipped out on the NCAA and didn’t head to BC. Skipping out on BC is always the way to go in my book.

Will Eichel crack the 100 point mark this season?
shrader replied to matter2003's topic in The Aud Club
A pace that would get him 147 point over a season. That’s a number we haven’t seen since 1996. Yeah, he’ll cool off from that pace a bit. -
And that’s the thing. As amazing as this streak has been, McDavid still has 11 point on him this year. Th gap between those two is crazy.
-
Watching Rudolph right now. That is always awesome this time of year. Being a “few” drinks in doesn’t hurt either.
-
Why would rejecting the NCAA in favor of the CHL hurt him in the eyes of the Canadian team? That’s the exact route they’d want to see him follow.

It’s a pretty easy work around if by some chance Johansson doesn’t qualify. Signing someone like Hammond, who you plan as an AHL bet, is an easy fix. Johansson is finishing his ELC this year and at this point I think they plan to give him a chance beyond this year. Hopefully he projects out to an NHL backup. If that games played piece isn’t factored in, he’s our exposed goalie. if I’m reading the rules correctly, Hutton can’t be that guy because his deal expires three year of the draft.
-
Is it "regulation time" or just "regulation"? I guess I never paid much attention, but I don't remember the word time being included.
-
Thank god we don't have any other super-hyped top draft picks on this roster that we'll have to also be patient with...
-
Right, and many guys don't know when/how to walk away.
-
I'm not all that familiar with the expansion rules. Can Jonas Johansson be that exposed guy in the draft if they re-sign him to a two year deal this offseason, or is there a games played requirement?
-
I just saw a great stat that I'm too lazy to verify. DeBoer is the 5th coach to be fired since the Detroit Red Wings last won a game.

I pray that this nickname never catches on.

Ha, that should look interesting if it actually works.
