  1. Do you hear colors?
  2. Scoring ten doesn’t stop the road team from getting 11.?
  3. Mancari never had that moment at the NHL level. From your list, he's the one guy who turned into a very good career AHLer who did get a few chances here or there in the NHL. So I'll give him that much, he at least established a level for himself and maintained it throughout his career. The rest had their flash and then quickly fell off. I don't know if some guys just quit once they realize they won't make the big time, but I appreciate a guy like Mancari who still thrives at the AHL level after realizing that the dream is probably dead.
  4. I always think of him as a pre-lockout player. But anyway, looking back on his stats, it's amazing how quickly he fell off after a fantastic first season. I want to call it Gragnani disease, but that one was just a playoff series.
  5. It looks like there was a big spike in his power numbers once he got to Colorado. That just happens to be right around the same time that two who should not be named had a home run race that no one likes to talk to. I'm not interested in casting any doubt on Walker because like I said earlier, as far as I'm concerned, every single player was juicing... even the scrawniest dude out there. Actually, I suspect that guy the most.
  6. I think the same thing each time I see his name. I feel like he was on the team while I was in college, but as it turns out, he's younger than me. He was on that Presidents' Trophy team, but I have absolutely no memory of that.
  7. And let’s face it, some quick googling and you will find an endless list of misspelled name plates across all sports. Does that make each of those teams Horrible and incompetent too? There are plenty of things to point the finger at with this organization. This one is way down the list.
  8. They took both Singletary and Knox in the 3rd round last year and I have a hart time believing either was intended to be an immediate starter. If they believe the best guy available when they walk up to the podium (do they do that in the 3rd round?), then so be it. They've earned that level of trust at this point. Me personally, I think how they decide to spend their large amount of cap space this offseason will have a bigger impact on the upcoming season than what they do in the draft.
  9. I looked back to game photos from 70s night. The "Download the ap" ad is still to the goalie's left. I haven't seen anything from the so called reporters other than the earlier Vogl tweet. That one didn't use the "Robitalle" picture. So unless someone else is using it, we can't throw this one one the reporters. That picture is only used in this thread. I believe I've also seen it in a reddit post made by the same poster.
  10. But that doesn't mean that they can't do both.
  11. Roby is sitting on the Sabre bench looking down towards the other team's net. If you watch the reverse angle replay of Jack's goal from the last home game, you can see that same corner of the rink. To the left of both nets, there is an NHL ad that reads "Download the ap". Robi's is just an "NHL.com" ad. So yeah, unless they are routinely changing that ad, you are right. The picture is not from this year. https://www.nhl.com/video/eichel-nets-beauty-on-rush/t-312066212/c-5102200
  12. That's the fun part about all of this need-based draft analysis at this time of the year. Free agency happens first, so that need list will be completely different by the time draft day rolls around. And with all the money they have available this year, that list is going to look completely different by April. This one is going to be interesting.
  13. Yeah, I have no idea how that tweet/sub-tweet crap works. I feel dirty even talking about it. And ahhh, I didn't look at playoff numbers. So add 3 more games to Myre's Sabre career.
  14. Do those aisles still exist? They were a wonderland as a kid. A sea of giant barrels filled with candy? No kid could resist.
  15. Good catch on that one. There's a reason why the Vogl tweet upthread only used the Andreychuk picture. What event was that anyway? I'm assuming 80s night. I think I missed that game because I can't remember that decade being honored. I was also wondering if I should feel shame for not having a clue who Myre is, but I'm over that now that I've looked him up. 5 games played in 82-83? How did he get in on the event, one of those guys who stayed local? But on another note, these jersey folks clearly like the name "chuck". Was the team able to lure in Malarchuk for the event? I'd be curious to see if they got his right.
  16. If that's what they see as the best player available at their pick in the 3rd, then so be it. RB will be a need and if they've already addressed the other more pressing needs in the first two rounds, go ahead, grab that 2nd RB. But who knows if they even wind up drafting in the 3rd. Picks are going to bounce around all over the place.
  17. It's not MLB's doing, it's the press. The baseball writers association holds all the votes. So you probably have a handful of folks in there who made there name writing about Clemens and Bonds but now refuse to vote for them. So yes, there's hypocrisy, but it's not the league. Thanks to the wonderful system these fools have had running for years, we now can say that the two highest vote getters of all time are a closer and a SS who was never the best at his position in the game and who never won an MVP. I don't want to take anything away from these guys as players, but it's completely crazy to think that anyone should have a better voter response than true legends like Ruth, Williams, or Aaron. I'm sure it was a different system than when they were voted in, but I just don't see these two as the rightful players where they finally made the decision to get over the refusal for unanimity. And as for the steroid stuff, I don't know how any player from that era can be above the level of suspicion. I'm of the mind that every single player was juicing. I'm sure it was much closer to all than it was to none. They'll praise this guy and that guy for never juicing, guys who also bulked up significantly from their early years. But hey, these guys were nice to certain media members, so we won't question them.
  18. You forgot to add that 1 at the start of your age.
  19. Overagers are those who turn 20 at or before 12/31 during the season. So if a kid turns 20 prior to the new year, he is considered an overager for that season.
  20. All of the age cutoffs line up so that once any player is two years removed from their first year of draft eligibility, they are no longer bound by the CHL transfer agreement. The older guys only have one year, but that's roughly a quarter of the draft class.
  21. Even if he doesn't have all that much to do with it, I'm still going to enjoy the fact that while he's in the superbowl, Brady will have been sitting at home for almost a month.
  22. I keep getting phone calls from a roofing company saying they're doing work in my neighborhood and want to check mine for damage too. That's funny, roof repairs are the kind of thing that are hard to miss if a neighbor is actually having them done. These asshats have called 5 straight days. They hang up the second I try to mess with them, which makes it even more annoying. The last time, I told them my roof was missing so I wasn't really sure if there was any damage or not. Oh, wrong spam.
  23. So Skinner will return either after the break or after the break? I realize what the WGR tweeter is trying to say, but it's not worded all that well.
  24. If the Superbowl winds up being Packers-Chiefs, they should pull some strings and make it the last one ever.
