An owner pushing for more payment to players? You may need to work on that theory a bit.
-
You folks are burning the popcorn with all these direct responses.
-
And the loss of Thompson and Lazar, their top two points per game players. They also lost their all star goalie somewhere in there and their top defenseman has been riding the shuttle back and forth to Buffalo.
-
And don't even get me started on the carpal tunnel syndrome risk. @SDS, I demand a raise!

And just wait until they start to work the live gambling into games as that starts to become legal everywhere. You bet on Curtis Lazar to win that draw and then boo as he's ejected from the circle. Throw him out! And then there's ref booing. They make so much less than the players. Why should we be allowed to hurt their feelings like that? Ref boos = lifetime ban. I feel like there's a different one I'm thinking of, but yeah, Thriller is the winner.

They're not allowed unless you have some sort of facial injury. That much I've never understood. Why would they stop anyone who actually wants to protect themselves? It's not like it enhances their performance in anyway, short of maybe being a bit more bold with shot blocking. There used to be the fighting argument, but as that has more or less disappeared from the game, so that doesn't mean much anymore. The most marketable game in this country has face shields, so they shouldn't be worried about that. And if it is a marketability thing, there are a million other things they should be focusing on. I don't see the need to mandate them, but let them wear them if they want to. What's next, banning the cup?

"Re-sign or replace"

I now feel vindicated for my decision not to watch the video. It sounds like he'll be fighting Frank Castle once he's back.

That's way too many words for an "I told you so".

Wrong one. I'm not familiar with the blood eagle, but I'm now hoping for the giant cartoon hook that pulls the offender out of the building. Maybe we can modify that and have it come from the ceiling and it turns into a giant claw game.

Grier should go the college route. I'm sure his school would love to have him.

Well here's another one for you.

And Pat played for Nolan for a grand total of 89 games which, other than the short return with the rags, marked the end of his career. How much can he really take away from that. Also, when a guy picks Ted Nolan over a legend like Al Arbour, we're probably very lucky that this guy isn't running our organization.

If there was ever a time for that eating popcorn gif, this is it. I don't know what we're watching here, but I can't look away.

Senators fire new CEO after 2 months...team dumpster fire
shrader replied to matter2003's topic in The Aud Club
And there's the root of the matter. No matter how poorly people thing of Terry and Kim, they're no Eugene Melnyk. -
Even Dea doesn't think that fans would want to take up a collection to pay more money to Dea.

If this view becomes more prevalent around the fanbase, we're going to see a very big push for a certain recently fired coach. I know some may say he's black listed at this point, but I have no real feel for whether or not that's the case.

No, I'm not clicking the play button on that one.

The long awaited Tsujimoto biography?

We reach the bar next year. Is that what I'm waiting for? At least this team will have one record. It's a big topic right now given a certain virus. I think I need to coin a new phrase for this whole charade: Fehr-mongering
-
I'll just say that I expect him to be here next year, but I can't help but be intrigued by the thought of what an experienced GM would do with the cap space and the upcoming overhaul. It's a near ideal situation for that kind of guy to step into.

My new favorite is the election text messages. I'm as rude as possible when demanding to be removed from the mailing list. My personal favorite was one that said something along the lines of "Dear. <shrader's wife's name>, Candidate X has worked hard fighting for people like you. Can he/she expect your vote on tuesday?". My response: "All that hard work and he/she still can't get my name right". And the best part is that these people will always respond no matter what you say to them. I may have to start asking them if they'll donate some money to my fund to bribe better performances out of pro athletes.

Do you ever try to play along with the scammer and mess with them? Usually they just hang up right away, but the true fun is had when they don't.

I'm late to this party and all I've actually read is the last post and quote. So this team hasn't drafted any impactful forwards outside of the first round during the Boterill regime? What exactly is the definition of "impactful" in that description. To date, not a single player drafted after the first round over those three years has a full season under his belt. 53 is the max career games played for any single player. So you've got, what, maybe 1 or 2 GMs who currently have an impactful player from that time span?
