  1. Apologies if it's already been talked about. I wonder what the league will do with the 1st pick when the league shuts down and isn't able to play any games.
  2. I wasn't worried about the ducks themselves, just the eggs. Hell, at this point, there's an army of ducks roaming our neighborhood. I saw them yesterday walking back and forth between birdfeeders in two backyards. They're everywhere, but luckily they're not geese.
  3. I’m too lazy to look into the standings so I’ll trust your math on that one.
  4. The pick is conditional. If it’s too 10, Toronto keeps it and gives them next year’s pick instead.
  5. I’m calling it right now. Toronto picks #1
  6. I never knew this until I was somewhere in the neighborhood of 35 years old.
  7. Both. And sharks. Don't forget about sharks. It's funny though. Right after I posted about the snakes earlier, I went outside to water the lawn. There was a decent sized black snake that I scared off. I know those ones are fine, but it makes me wonder about the well being of the duck nest that may or may not be out there.
  8. Was that a COVID-specific cutoff? 30 has always been the cutoff for obesity for as long as I've been in research. That's only around 20 years, but that's a long enough time. 40 is just the highest class, most extreme grouping, of obesity.
  9. Thank god the head scout doesn't get to make phone calls to suggest trades.
  10. Did this name change just happen? I would have sworn that I saw the name Key Arena just a few days ago.
  11. That's the one thing that drives me crazy down here in NC. I know the copperheads are everywhere and I know what they look like. But I still haven't adjusted to seeing so many snakes so I just avoid them like a post from NS. And that's not very easy because they like to slither across the greenway trail pretty much any time you're out there walking.
  12. If there's any statue, just convert it to the Home Alone screaming pose. Problem solved. "We're named after this guy!"
  13. It'll be draft day. There's really no point in pushing for a positive story right now because any positive reaction will have long since worn out by the time the team is playing again.
  14. Either your monitor is off or the shadows are throwing you. I suppose it might not necessarily be royal blue, but they're definitely much brighter than what the team has been wearing.
  15. Those are the 3 first rounders. Messier is one of their first 3 picks and obviously Gretzky was never drafted. So you're missing out one one guy from their first draft who is in the hall.
  16. And with that, the first three draft picks of the Edmonton Oiler franchise are all in the hall of fame. That's how you start a franchise... well, bringing over from the WHA the greatest player who ever lived helps too. Edit: And on top of that, each of their first round picks from their first 3 years are all in the hall of fame. Who wants to name all 5 Hall of Famers here without looking it up?
  17. Gee, I wonder who asked him a question about Eichel.
  18. In the future, check the posting history for the person. Pretty quickly you should be able to find a post that was quoted. That will still show the old username.
  19. And I wasn't saying the Canes were cheap. I was saying the radio station is cheap when it comes to their hockey coverage. There's too much uncertainty right now, but my guess is he's back covering the Sabres once things restart.
  20. They have media people? It really does seem like a skeleton crew. The guys on the main station down here covering them are all doing it as pretty much a side job. They're on regular radio shows and then do double duty during the hockey season. It doesn't really look like a spot where they're going to be adding people and payroll.
  21. He's had multiple BU teammates here since day 1. Rodriques, O'Regan, Hickey... and then they had two more briefly in Rochester in Cason Hohmann and Matt Lane. If he wanted to be somewhere with old teammates, this place has been very friendly in that regard. It's not going to be former teammates that drive any decision he makes.
  22. Their radio coverage down here is pretty bare bones. The pregame show sounds like it's straight out of a college radio station.
  23. You're giving it too much credit. His target audience is Bruin fans, so he's writing something to catch their eye. There's nothing more to it than that. It's the equivalent of those "If I was GM" columns that Bucky would do each year.
  24. I love how a reporter writing a "this is what they should do" story magically turns into a "rumor".
  25. He also had all those funny one liners on SNL back in the 90s.
