  1. They can throw the actual division structure out the window with this. I'd throw the 7 canadian teams together and then create three more pods out of the remaining 24 teams. They could have some regional breakout among those 3 groups. That would take the border crossing out out of play. Whatever they do, it's still not going to resemble a real season. There are just way too many games for that. It's not ideal, but I'd keep games completely within those 4 so called divisions, minimize travel, and then determine a separate champion within each group over the course of however long the year is. You then have your conference finalists.
  2. I think more than anything it probably gives us a hint of the kind of coach Appert is. I see it as him talking up a guy, a nice reminder of what the real goal is. Classic motivation.
  3. I mostly just think the agent is an idiot. That sword is a claymore, right? I can’t imagine those ever worked very well with the stabbing.
  4. I was in high school at that point, so completely alcohol free for the last time in my life. I’m not good at messing around with the images, especially on my phone, but turn this upside-down if you can.
  5. I got home at 6 earlier tonight and found out that my hvac has some sort of electrical issue. That will make for a fun night.
  6. Where is the blood coming from. The sword clearly went over the shoulder and under the pads. Wait a second... sword? DeBoer is orchestrating a trade to the Sabres.
  7. I still think the worst part of all of this is when you forget about that open cut or blister on your hand until you put on hand sanitizer.
  8. A lifetime of stupidity and that’s what did him in? I guess we’ll all take the victory but that’s pretty weak.
  9. My personal favorite is how there is something that clearly looks like a cartoon devil face if you turn the logo upside-down. I could never unsee that anytime I wore the jersey and looked down at the logo. It’s even better knowing that we added Satan not too long into the lifespan of that jersey.
  10. Also, LaFontaine played 6 years and 268 regular season games (too lazy to factor in playoffs) in Buffalo while Turgeon played 4 years and 255 games on the island. So even with the injury issues, we got more time out of LaFontaine. Pat also put up 385 points to Pierre's 340, 1.43 points per game vs. 1.33. So he out produced over that time as well. In terms of long term value, I don't really see much of an argument for either guy. I'd say that both teams made out well on the trade, at least when it comes to these two players. With the rest of the players, the only real thing that jumps out to me is that this trade sent Krupp off on a long path towards cementing himself in Colorado Avalanche history.
  11. They're in the room with him, so they're automatically not the dumbest.?
  12. The only time I felt bad after finding something on a glue trap was a dead toad. They may be a nuisance, I'm not really sure, but they've never bothered me. Plus I knew the little guy was doomed when he hopped into the garage and under the car when I took the garbage out one night. I tried to chase it out with a broom but I couldn't find it. Sure enough, the next night it was on the trap.
  13. That and we all know exactly where they go if you release them really close to your house. If I really had to release them, it would be directly into a hawks beak. And if I ever actually had a rat in my house, that F'er is dead!
  14. The plexiglass lobby wanted me silenced.
  15. I'm right on the border of these cutoffs, so maybe that's why I don't have the slightest clue who this guy is.
  16. Was stuff deleted after my post about hitting my hat on the plexiglass? I hope so because otherwise that's a really weird post to be the last before closing it.
  17. I can't count the number of times I've bumped into those plexiglass windows in any store with the brim of my hat. It's pretty much always while I'm looking down to use the credit card machine.
  18. I feel like defensemen usually take a little extra time to settle in with a new team. I also am a bit skeptical of how we've been handling them over the last 5 years or so. We've seen a good number of guys who sucked here but then went on to be just fine somewhere else. Hopefully we've finally got a staff in place that can correct that. With that said, if they want to move him, fine, but he should be a good chip for any potential deal.
  19. That "poorly-worded" part at the end is absolutely hilarious. It goes so well with that first sentence, which I have absolutely no idea what it means. The double negative is messing with my mind.
  20. They got a 40 goal season in exchange for Pu and a 2nd, 3rd, and 6th. Anyone who doesn't want to credit them for that trade is way too jaded at this point.
  21. I was just thinking back on that 92-93 team and how much the league and the Sabres have changed since then. That team had 4 hall of famers... and Mogilny (don't get me started). That included 2 HoF goalies. They had also traded away HoF Dave Andrechuk in exchange for Fuhr. It's amazing how much more talent you could assemble prior to the expansion boom of the 2000s.
  22. This Montour quote is much more guarded than the others. There's nothing definitive in that comment, so it really isn't anything like the other two you mentioned.
  23. And if he had a few MVPs under his belt, the trade may very well have never happened.
  24. Well if they sign him before qualifying offers are even due, the statement "we will issue a qualifying offer" would in fact be BS.
  25. Hopefully Jokiharju enters the list after a few more years.
