  1. Again thanks for the effort it took to do this. It's actually - dare I say - fun participating in this tournament.
  2. Just a reminder to myself that I still have $1,365.
  3. I laughed my ass off when I saw that commercial live for the first time. As much as I dislike the Red Sox, I always had some love for David Ortiz for his enjoyment of the game.
  4. The Lynn - Bradley combo wouldn't be the worst outcome and would be a decent compromise between continuity on what works while attempting to fix what didn't (defense). Plus I like Gus Bradley and think our personnel should fit well with him save for our abysmal safeties
  5. What a lovely turn of phrase. Eloquent and succinct.
  6. Not to derail the thread further, but it even seems to crop up occasionally on the online content of some reputable news outlets like NYT and Washington Post. I just don't get it - well I do - the rush to be first beats out the time it takes to edit and produce a quality product.
  7. The article's content seemed good enough, but there were multiple typos and fragmented sentences in that article. Is spell check what passes as editing these days? Where's the journalistic integrity?
  8. I was going to say the Canes probably have a hatred of Buffalo, but it may be waning since the playoff series where the alleged raping and pillaging happened was many years back now.
  9. My wife just saw the preview for Split online and was really excited to see it, so we will definitely be catching that one when it comes out. I am a bit worried that all her reading and movie material is centered around serial killers and psychopaths. I might start sleeping with the light on for my safety
  10. the only meaningful one is the dunce cap that he's been toting around since he started working for the Bills.
  11. Lynn mentioned he was not in the room when the decision to not play Tyrod was made. Once that was made, it was "our" decision to start EJ.
  12. Problem is Eichel and ROR are too good at being centers that they can't be combined and automatically take up the top two slots. Ideally I would love to have the talent in the wings to play three scoring lines and have a useful 4th line of Foligno-Larsson. That is a playoff roster. Only issue is I don't see Larsson loving that or getting enough minutes to be effective, and we are woefully short on wing talent as is.
  13. I too was trying to come up with a way to get Reinhart at the Center position with the line combos. I kept getting stuck with crappy wingers and Larsson on the 4th line. I don't really want to break up the Kane-Larsson-Gionta line as they have been playing so well, but I don't hate your idea. the only other out of the box idea I could think of was putting Eichel and ROR on the same line, but that seems silly. Plus we don't want to lose ROR faceoff ability and Jack is growing into being good at faceoffs as well. All this is moot since Dreadful DanTM is not going to keep the same lines for more than a game. To the bold: this is exactly what this thread is for.
  14. Sell it to some mouth breather in Orchard Park or Cheektowaga?
  15. I would absolutely like to see Samson play at center now and going forward. Our lack of wing depth should not prevent us from playing our best players in their best positions.
  16. Anthony Lynn press conference on WGR right now. @MarkLud12 Lynn mentioned Tyrod Taylor's oft-discussed issues with throwing the ball down the middle of the field as an area for improvement @PrescottRossi Lynn: "I don't want a player to be evaluated from one game, just like how I don't want to be evaluated for one game." @PrescottRossi Lynn on Manuel: "We don't rely on our QBs to run the football, but if he chooses to keep it on a couple of read plays, that's fine." @RapSheet This was interesting. #Bills coach Anthony Lynn says it would be good to have Tyrod Taylor for an offseason. Not cutting him loose yet. @SalSports Lynn: "Obviousy with Rex being the head coach and my friend I'd love to have seen him get more time. But this is a business." @JaySkurski Lynn says Rex informed him of his firing. "He gave me his blessings." #Bills
  17. That's because he is asked to play a seemingly very constrained disciplined game, where he is least attributed to play. I would say it would be like Lindy Ruff asking Brian Campbell back in the day to never skate with the puck and play as a stay-at-home guy. He would have looked equally horrible. All aboard the Dreadful DanTM bandwagon.
  18. I think the biggest deciding factor to next year's success will be who is brought in as the defensive coordinator, and how do they see the jumble of defensive players fitting into a coherent scheme. I think there are quite a few talented defensive players on the roster, but they don't fit very well in either the 3-4 or 4-3 schemes at the moment. Just a random assortment of guys. Keeping Lynn is fine, but I think he would need a strong D coordinator, and I don't know if he has been around long enough to have good contacts around the league. Much like Marrone didn't know anyone and brought along seemingly his whole staff from Syracuse. A repeat of that would be a disaster.
  19. Meesa called Jar Jar Binks. Meesa no likey Star Wars. :nana:
  20. My dad when we were younger built an epic tree house for us on the old willow tree in the backyard (think full sized shed/house suspended 10' up). In the winter time, instead of building a nest out of sticks, the squirrels just used the tree house as their winter home. Attempting to alleviate this issue for subsequent winters, my dad built a "squirrel hotel" out of wood and installed it further up (20-25ft) in the same willow tree. The squirrels seem satisfied enough and left the tree house to humans. Long story short, I always got a chuckle out of my friends asking what that little house was way up at the top of the tree was, to which I would always reply "squirrel hotel"
  21. If we are talking who is the end goal of a championship roster, than everyone but Risto and McCabe is the answer. None of the other lower pairing guys appear at all reliable to give playoff minutes without the inevitable -up. I do recognize that multiple cup winning teams (like Chicago) have ridden a top 4 and gave the bottom pair ~10 minutes, but i'm going to say that is the exception not the rule.
  22. 7th but who's counting? :nana: (not trying to bust your balls here - I agree with your point, especially since guys like Robinson and Landry were available in the late 2nd.)
  23. Huh? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Antonio_Brown "Brown was selected 195th overall by the Steelers in the sixth round of the 2010 NFL Draft." The notable 2014 WR class was Watkins, Mike Evans, Odell Beckham, Brandon Cooks, Kelvin Benjamin, Allen Robinson and Jarvis Landry
  24. Well that sucks. Just when the Sabres were starting to play well... ...wait :bag:
