Yet another nail in the "fire Bylsma" coffin.
-
I know right? I got home at 9 expecting to catch the first pitch, knowing I would still have to say up well past midnight to finish. Then they did 22 minutes of b.s. fluff and first pitch at 9:22? why not start all that crap at 8:30 to start the game at 9? But USA dominated that game from start to finish - way to go USA! My boy Stroman looked really good and avenged his poor showing against Puerto Rico in the pool play rounds.

Bump because Randall's epic analysis post may be the best post ever made on this site or any other site. Compelling, clearly articulated mastery of why this team has underperformed all year - even with pictures for those of us who are slow

I would imagine it would be so they could leverage the actual 100 level seats for 3 of the 4 sides, and only have temp bleachers for one side. Basically for concessions and ease of use. Although the off-center jumbotron always bothered me in those kinds of set ups. Anyone following or watching to World Baseball Classic? Team USA just made it to the finals tonight against Puerto Rico - should be an exciting game

they weren't the tire fire I expected. Especially Austin - he's so big that any mistakes he made were corrected by his reach.

Lost Point Countdown: -15 Final: 78 (Mathmatically Eliminated)
Samson's Flow replied to MattPie's topic in The Aud Club
I thought you would kill off this thread once the countdown reached 0, but the negative countdown does add a sort of elegance to the futility. -
Darkhorse candidate - Gordon Bombay  All kidding aside, I don't know enough about the intricacies and coaching styles to weigh in on many of the candidates listed above, but if guys like Randall and TrueBlue bless the new coach based on possession metrics and advanced mumbo jumbo then I'm all aboard. I know what I want to see I just don't know what coach aligns with that stylistic preference enough to have a definitive answer. I want possession hockey, short passes, moving up the ice as a group and the defense activated in the rush/offensive zone.

that's pretty funny

Less snarky answer is no. It would be a 10 minute drive or 31 minute walk to get from one to the other. -
Who's left in this shindig besides Eleven and Taro playing catch up to Swamp?

For those of you who are out of towners, Gabriel's Gate is located in the city on Allen St, one of the trendier bar districts. It's City parking, so you may have to parallel park and find a spot on the street nearby. For most of the city, there is free parking after 5pm, so pay the meter for an hour and head in. (locals please confirm my advice so I don't end up screwing over the group - nothing says "Welcome to Buffalo" like a parking ticket :nana: ) -
In a nutshell yep. I have SMU and UCLA going far, as well as a lot of #12 over #5 upsets. Plus taking the annual half day tomorrow to head to the bar at noon with co-workers :)

Addendum - next week is also Buffalo restaurant week, so most places will have $20 dinner specials for you out of town visitors. Localrestaurantweek.com Gabriel's Gate is listed but doesn't have their special menu up yet. Might want to get on that reservation sooner rather than later -

As long as you all don't refer to me as "Touched by Boyes", it could get... awkward. My semi-inappropriate user name is coming back to bite me.Just Boyes is good :) -

I get you now. Sabres a trying to corner the market on nationalities represented in the NHL. Let's hope it works out better than the Bills and the "Ed Wang Experiment" -

As an aside, I know your (E5) remark is in reference to Eklund when his "rumors" used to get posted on here a lot, but I haven't heard anything from him in what seems like years. Is he still spouting his nonsense out there and we are smart enough to ignore him or did Hockeybuzz finally full the plug? -
Just drove into work ( had early meetings so I took them WFH) and there were literally 10 cars on the road from my house to work, including the 290 E and 90 W. That might have been the easiest commute I have ever had. The thruway is down to the pavement and the surface roads have a light covering with pavement at the wheel spots. Much ado about nothing if you ask me. :)
