And the Blue Jays are 2-11. Don't call it a comeback...

It gets the people going!

Get that MS Paint crap out of here. You're a professional artist :nana: (Kidding obviously) Same but for little league/tee ball. I remember everyone got a little bullshite 4" glove trophy, but the winners got the real two story official looking ones. Those are the only ones I ever put on the shelf.

I can do this too. Unfortunately it doesn't do me a lot of good to call the home phones of the parents of my elementary school friends. I know my wife's, dad's and mom's cell numbers and that's it. :(
-
Did you designate a pee corner? You should prioritize that.

Right if we lose Eichel because he is unhappy then Tim Murray for sure loses his job and doesn't get another one. That is an unforgivable sin. You don't lose your job by firing Dan effin Byslma.
-
I have no f*ckin idea. :nana: Get it gurl.

Most importantly Tim Murray did a good job of demonstrating that he is aware of the issues and not making excuses. He was by no means an ostrich in the sand.

I readily admit that basketball is different - the size of the team (only having ~10 players that play) means having top end talent is that much more important, especially when your star can play 80% of the teams minutes. I do think the example is comparable in that the difference between an engaged, motivated, happy Eichel and a pissed off one who looks disinterested makes a huge difference in team morale and wins/losses at the end of the year. I really think there are only a handful of impact coaches in the league and then all the others fall into two buckets - decent (neutral win impact) and bad (negative win impact). Most of the NHL coaches are in the neutral category, with varying flavors of systems they all would get the same wins from equal talent. I don't mind swapping neutral coaches to appease a star player.

Either way I have just spent at least a minute watching that gif on loop.
-
Again, like my LeBron example in the press conference thread, Eichel is the type of player you need to prioritize keeping happy as that skill is impossible to replace. Tossing out a coach for another decent coach to appease your superstar player is far more preferable to losing your star in FA because he was displeased. The first is commonplace in sports (but kind of ), the second gets you immediately fired as GM and blacklisted from ever working again.
-
I think Eichel is the level of star player that can make this sort of request. Yes he is young, but there have been similar situations (mostly in Basketball) where a star like LeBron basically picks his coach.

Well you do have 100 posts already and it's only been a few days since the return of Liger.

Right those were four twitter posts that provided no new substance or news. Just stating the obvious. I can't wait for Twitter to die a horrible painful death.

The PA indoctrination is complete. Any WNYer would have said "THE I-90". Wildcard we barely knew ye... -
Thanks for that pre-lunch visual.

Sneaky Mass Effect reference.

Not only that it throws away the last cost controlled season for our young stars. It's way more difficult to win when you aren't boosted by your star players making CBA required entry level cap hits.
-
tableau is sexy btw :flirt: Nicely done Blue. Saving Ryan's Privates. So good.

We shouldn't be at the point where we are relying on player improvement to luck ourselves into more wins next year. There is the perception that there is no real clear plan for improvement going forward, which is a huge concern for me as the window of having good players on entry level contracts is quickly closing. You win cups when you have multiple young star players being payed peanuts paired with talented veterans - and we are squandering Eichel/Reinhart/Risto on shite teams.
-
If only we could bitch loudly enough about something else, say the head coaching situation...?
-
I would prefer to keep both, as I feel like there are far more pressing roster issues than removing Larsson/Zemgus. When we get to the point when that is our top issue, then we are probably a pretty good team. That said, I still see the potential and quality of Zemgus, and would prefer to keep him as I think he would be a factor in playoff hockey, where the physicality and speed get ramped up. I think he has been underutilized as a result of not having a distinct role on the team - sometimes he plays wing in a scoring line fill in, sometimes he is asked to play more physical checking line role, etc.

This sounds like a bad plot to a 80's era porno. Next thing you know the plumber rings the doorbell and says he has to help "lay some pipe" or somesuch.

You suck. :nana: At least you can still talk about Kane's antics
