  1. We go there for our annual ditch work and watch March Madness for a day, and you're right I was pleasantly surprised at how good the wings were at Sidelines. I was expecting Buffalo average and they were a step above that. They still don't hold a candle to my personal favorite Bar Bill, but I can't always drive an hour away for wings... :)
  2. Well if 76,000 combined posts agree then it must be a pretty good take :nana:
  3. Didn't sound like it, Pegula was upset about the lack of communication and structure, so I doubt he would want to distance himself further by hiring another employee between him and GM/Coach.
  4. Disciple, Structure, Communication, Character. - if that was the drinking game buzzwords we would be dead.
  5. Pegula says we haven't interviewed Lombardi or anyone else yet Will move as quickly and efficiently as possible.
  6. Terry doesn't want to commit to the tank word. we rebuilt.
  7. We have to have character. Must not have liked Tim Murray's way of doing things.
  8. Safe assumption to get GM before coach. Experience will be key in new GM search. Plan is to build a stronger organization from top to bottom.
  9. Character throughout the orginization. Everyone knows what everyone else is doing, expectations and accountability.
  10. Reputation as an owner - there's a lot of turnover in professional sports. Lots of GMs change jobs. These things happen in sports.
  11. Would like to be involved in the next hiring of GM/Coach... Keeps harping on more discipline and structure.
  12. Look they aren't all roses, and even a qualified hire sometimes fails. I think the Patriots assistants failing has more to do with them being relatively inexperienced and reliant on Belichick more than anything else.
  13. Not sure if even relevant anymore, but Tiger Woods out for year after undergoing 4th back surgery. Such a decline for an all time great.
  14. Works for me. As I said before - raid an assistant from a successful, well run franchise
  15. Yes really. The folks preferring Downtown is more about a "transportation hub" and less about the purpose of the station which is to serve Amtrak ridership. We will still need to keep the stupid Depew station to service Westward trains. https://www.buffalorising.com/2017/03/per-higgins-there-can-only-be-one/ Higgins explains the stupidity of the Exchange and Depew stations and how Central Terminal would solve both.
  16. I too disagree. We will never have any level of ridership to make Amtrak a useful transportation option if they are not A) on time and reliable and B) service routes west like to Chicago. The downtown station option can only head directly east or to Toronto and has to back the train out at a slow speed all the way to the junction out by Central Terminal in order to go west. Highly impractical. The main routes will just skip over Buffalo since it will add an extra 45mins-1hr to the total time because of the logistics of getting to the downtown station. Central Terminal was put where it was because it is directly on the E-W main line and can send trains in any direction with minimal/no delays.
  17. It was the hair. Profiling at its finest.
  18. Of course today is the day that I have tons of meetings. I feel like a bad fan because I heard about the DD/GMTM firings from water cooler gossip rather than from F5'ing the board all day. :bag: Shame.
  19. I think he felt too comfortable sharing all the dirty laundry of the team, and in candidly sharing all the things that went wrong he ended up convincing pegula that it wasn't just a coach issue but a larger organization issue that fell on the GM. Zero given burns GMTM for the last time
  20. It's tough for fans (even the knowledgeable ones here) to know much about who the best GM candidates are. We all have preferences but they are going to be heavily weighted towards the names everyone knows. I don't have the slightest idea who the best choice is since I wasn't expecting to have to hire a GM anytime soon
  21. Not the worst idea. I think we are pretty attractive to a new GM. We already have our star player and shedding bad contacts is easier for a GM who has no ties to the existing players. (Much like how GMTM did when he first came here)
  22. Wow I can't believe that Bylsma actually got fired. I thought it was all just message board desires. We kept holding out hope it would happen. But Tim Murray?! Holy . I did not expect that at all. I'm not surprised in retrospect, seeing the issues of the coach also being mismanagement of the staff by GMTM. Pegula sure loves firing coaches
  23. What did I tell you guys. Eichel is to the Sabres as LeBron is to the Cavs. You keep your superstar happy - if that means firing a coach so be it. :w00t: :w00t:
  24. As a graduate of SUNY Geneseo I can assure you there are a million little hodunk back roads that can get you to Geneseo that are nearly as fast as taking the Thruway (and much cheaper). I didn't know you taught at Geneseo True. :flirt:
