  1. I'm sorry We've, we are usually pretty aligned on things around here, but I want nothing to do with a goalie as part of the ROR package. They are just too unpredictable in terms of value. I'd much rather address goalie separately and focus on getting a couple of core skaters back (one young NHL'er and a nearly there top prospect). That seems like more projectable value, and we need some security if we're trading our 2nd best player. I think back to the inclusion of guys like Kasdorf in the past who turn out to be zero value long term.
  2. This is exactly the type of tweet that major insiders throw out there to keep the media interested in a story when they have no new information. It keeps the "ROR trade" storyline going. Eggzactly.
  3. Boy it was nice when we had the Hasek & Miller days when we didn't have to worry about finding a competent goalie...
  4. Me too. It's a fun thing to watch the unexpected absences in the prospect/training camps and speculate off that.
  5. Agreed. Will definitely bring the family to catch a game or two this year to check out the Beauts
  6. In my search a fun article discussing how the Blues can target a Top 6 center from back in May. Speaking to the Blues prospect quality on defense as a place of strength to trade from. https://www.prohockeyrumors.com/2018/05/st-louis-blues-must-decide-who-to-move-if-they-want-to-improve.html Me too. We'll see if STL agrees that ROR has that value.
  7. I know the Blues stuff is just rumors at this point, but there is enough smoke to at least look at the prospect reports for some of their players that have been mentioned: Robert Thomas - sounds like a 2nd line center potential with more of a two way game compared to the more offensively minded Middlestadt. http://lastwordonsports.com/2017/04/23/robert-thomas-scouting-report-2017-nhl-draft-24/ Colton Parayko - big bodied defenseman with a heavy shot and solid two way game; older (25yo) player who has already established in NHL http://www.hockeysfuture.com/prospects/colton-parayko/ Vince Dunn - good skating offensive defenseman. http://www.hockeysfuture.com/prospects/vince-dunn/
  8. Sounds like a real NHL LW that can play in a scoring role. We desperately need those.
  9. I mean Beaulieu still has another year on his contract, so until something happens he's on the team whether we like it or not. But to my original point, I am very pleased with that starting defense next year if the reported ROR trade comes to pass.
  10. I mean, just a top 6 of: RHD: Parayko Ristolainen Bogosian LHD: Dahlin Scandella McCabe Plus the others like Pilut, Beaulieu, Hundwick, Borgen, Nelson, etc.
  11. Rob Thomas is from Matchbox Twenty. Hope that helps... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rob_Thomas_(musician) :nana:
  12. Parayko from STL is a RHD... just sayin ;)
  13. The biggest thing I saw change based on the numbers is the usage - Offensive zone starts of 63% in the good year, and 55% in the down year. Ask our friend ROR how usage can change your scoring output :nana:
  14. Especially when Sheary is the right age at a position of need, who may have depressed his value with a disappointing 30 pt season after scoring 53 the year before. His Corsi/PDO stats appear relatively unchanged, so this may just be a good buy low based on team perception.
  15. Palat would be a good LW addition, and Callahan's deal is only another 2 years. But both have high cap hits ($5.3MM Palat and $5.8MM Callahan) - that's a lot to take on at once. Right. I don't think we can take two $5MM+ cap hits without sending one of ours out. That Okposo contract looks tuurrible.
  16. Parayko as a major piece works for me, as he is 25 and locked up on a recent 5 year deal. It seems Botterill and Housley are really focused on defense this off season, so that would make sense. Again pure speculation by me, but interesting.
  17. I am most intrigued by a St. Louis trade of O'Reilly since they have the prospects and young players that would be interesting and actually improve our team. I still would prefer not to trade him at all, but it sounds more and more like that ship is sailing and the trade is inevitable. Are we sure that the "cap clearing" move mentioned is us sending someone out? Could it be another Sheary like move where we get a good player to take on another cap anchor for a few years?
  18. I'm already there. Mexico plays an entertaining brand and it would be great to see a CONCACAF team succeed at the World Cup.
  19. Looks like some last second goals means Croatia and Argentina are advancing to the knockout stage That was exciting for a bit there...
  20. Exactly. I would be apoplectic if all we got for ROR was the #10 pick in the draft and some mid round dart throws. The #10 could turn out to be a good player (i.e. Risto), but we have to wait 3 years for that and it's not a guarantee that it's not closer to a Zemgus level player.
  21. As a guy who lives in the corporate brainwash that raises should be 3-4%, a 15% increase is ballin'.
  22. Yes preparing myself mentally for the 90+ degree days and the impact of the elevation. Here's hoping we have a good time and don't just die from exhaustion...
  23. and conveniently a block away from my house.
  24. Heading out tonight for a week long trip through Colorado (Denver, Vail, Aspen). Really looking forward to getting away from work and having a good time. Highlights include hiking, brewery tours, baseball game, dinner and drinks and oh yeah... the mother funking Aspen Food & Wine Festival. :flirt:
  25. I can't remember the last time I wore dress shoes with shoelaces. It's all about the slip ons for the time saved heading to work/at the airport.
