It was mentioned before the game that Allen struggled against the blitz, and Green Bay is one of the heaviest blitzing teams

PSA: Ad on WGR about crossing the border with a DWI

There's more to life than being really really ridiculously good looking, and I intend to find out what it is. -
Well damn. As much as people/players seem to like the guy, i'm totally ready for a newer perspective for the Jays - especially given the new core that is coming with Vlad Jr, Bichette and others. I think we've been pretty stale compared to some of the innovative things that other teams have been doing around the league.

What a shocking development.

I really liked A Simple Favor. My wife really enjoyed it as well, as it was right in her wheelhouse of suspense murder mystery. Plus we generally like everything Anna Kendrick does. -
Sabres @ Blue Jackets 1st Preseason game 7pm tonight!
Samson's Flow replied to North Buffalo's topic in The Aud Club
Don't teams generally give their bottom roster ECHL/AHL guys the first game to get their feet wet before sending them down? That keeps your "real" roster fresh for the next few games. I seem to recall this is standard practice from past years. -
For now. I always thought that it would be very distracting (certainly far more than a cell phone) and should be punished accordingly. Regardless, I make sure to steer clear of those people once I spot them.

Thanks. Now I know. "I think I will use the pointy end of the fire poker rather than the handle end to shove it up your @ss later..."

This. It's been so long since it was worth getting excited for Sabres hockey, that it will be a strange feeling to have that feeling back rather then watching out of some sadistic obligation.

I mean, we know the alternative didn't work. At least there is a reason to watch the Chargers game (and future games) now.

Cool. Thanks.

The only other sporting event that I can think of that includes a national anthem is Olympic competition. But that makes sense, since it's y'know an actual country competing against other countries. As someone who really respects what veterans and active military members do for the collective whole, I often find myself very uncomfortable with the manufactured patriotism that is seemingly compulsive at sporting events. You have to stand and clap for the armed forces member plastered on the jumbotron, for the national anthem played before each game, listen attentively to the DOD advertisement/sponsorship throughout the game, etc. If you don't then you are some heartless jerk who is un-patriotic and hates america. It's weird yo.

Hopefully that is positive history and something broadcasters can point out as a fun fact after he has a long, successful career.

I mean Nova Scotia is the only Canadian Providence I haven't been to. So I basically have to go

Not saying you're wrong about the flags, but the overall quality of play last night from two seemingly good teams was atrocious. Thursday football should not be a thing, especially week 1 thursday football.

That sucks man. Dogs are awesome. The greeting I got from my little girl coming home for the first time after spending a few days with my dad warmed my heart. There's nothing better than a dog greeting their owner coming home from work/travel.

Follow the money is right. The prescription drug industry is rolling in it at the expense of people's lives. Thanks for the kind words Eleven. You lawyer types are alright... ?

I think we got through December one year where the Bills had more home wins than the Sabres for each respective season. The Bills play 8 home games. The Sabres play 41 home games.

Had to take off work to take care of my dad in his battle with pain medication. I have spent the last few days feeling helpless watching him struggle in agony. After over a dozen years taking hydrocodone, then methadone, then suboxon, he and his doctors have made a commitment to wean off of opiates and find alternative treatment. It's a quality of life issue he must address and fix forever or else become another statistic. My take is it's no way to live. Since last Saturday he's gone 5 days with no opiates. He says this has been the most difficult stretch of his entire life (and he broke his neck as a child, was in the Navy, etc.). Last update is he's currently in the last stages of opioid withdrawals. I'm amazed after seeing all this that opioid painkillers are prescribed freely, but safer alternatives (like medicinal marijuana) have a negative stigma and are not explored.

Nothing in this post is factually incorrect. It is amazing the optimism that surrounds the Sabres every year and the direct contrast to the Bills being doomed even though they have been a consistent 6 to 9 win team.

It's Thursday now... ...but the Complaint Thread is locked.
-
We usually get a notice the day of that we get 3pm dismissal, but 1pm is just bonkers. That's like the whole day...
-
Corporate America has it's perks. (Consider this the antithesis of some of the Complaint Thursday posts) Just got the email that my whole department has early dismissal at 1pm today in anticipation of the Labor Day weekend. That's basically a free 4 day weekend!

We honestly have a bottom 5 offensive line. Could be worst in NFL. So far it wouldn't have mattered if we had all pros at every skill position. Ducasse just sacked Allen by getting walked back 7 yes into the QBs face

As I was watching the Bills Embedded series I couldn't help but contrast McD to what I have been seeing out of the Hard Knocks episodes with the Browns. That team is a total sh!tshow and Hue is not a strong leader at all. I know it's comparing to the Browns, but I feel very strongly that we are way ahead of other teams in terms of cohesiveness and the right message being portrayed.
