  1. A guy who over moisturizes?
  2. We were really flying with momentum after the KO goal. That quick answer deflated them a lot
  3. Nice first period. It looks like the Sabres know how big of a game this is and are treating it as such. Solid team hustle creating chances. TB is good though - you can see how quickly they take away time and space. Also - haven't hated Tages game so far
  4. Yeah the NYS package looks especially painful for us tax payers. That said DC was always going to be a favored choice. Bezos owns a house there and preferred that location the whole time
  5. Boy how he has fallen from his one great year in Cleveland. Cut by the Jets and Bills in the same year.
  6. I didn't know Star-Lord played hockey. Hmm... (I know it was a typo - just messing with you)
  7. You got it - happy travels Woody!
  8. The D&C has a more local impact analysis: https://www.democratandchronicle.com/story/news/politics/albany/2018/11/13/new-york-amazon-incentives-billion/1986979002/
  9. Amazon selected NYC and DC as the two locations for HQ2. The economic incentive packages are pretty sizable. May make it tough to get WNY funding since the focus for NY will be on infrastructure to support Amazon. https://blog.aboutamazon.com/company-news/amazon-selects-new-york-city-and-northern-virginia-for-new-headquarters
  10. Yeah I have little interest in continuing the Tage Thompson experiment at the NHL level. He needs lots of ice time in a lower level until he figures out that the toe drag dangle shouldn't be your go-to move unless you are playing in a bar league C league. I see the talent, but the decision making and grasp of the game is not NHL level at this point and it is hurting the Sabres big time.
  11. Sorry NS, but after that firewagon hockey game that Ullmark played (poorly) in last week, I don't mind giving Hutton a few more starts.
  12. Ahh. My interpretation and usage is more along the: Anchor - something that serves to hold an object firmly in place or drag down
  13. I like that method much better as well - my old employer did that. My current employer gives 4 weeks of "use it or lose it" PTO per year that doesn't carry over past the calendar year.
  14. As others have mentioned - terrified how the 17-71-29 line will play against Stamkos & co. Hopefully Berglund is getting a maintenance day and is reunited with Z and Larsson.
  15. I have the one Canuck goal in my head where Eichel looked labored in his skating/effort preventing him from covering his man who came down to the slot/goal mouth to score. IIRC McCabe had to try to cover two players as a result and couldn't tie up the goal scorer.
  16. I feel like this is what people who hate traditional counting stats-based articles point to as exhibit A for their point. While Sobotka has a decent goal total and good counting stats so far, watching games and diving deeper into his play shows that he has been the beneficiary of his linemates and has generally been the anchor on his line and not the driver of play.
  17. As much as it was nice seeing Jack return in the Vancouver game, he was definitely nowhere near his usual self. If he has to play at 70% like last game, I don't see us with much of a chance tonight. He needs to be a difference maker.
  18. I'm just messing with you bud. I'm out of vacation time until 2019 as well, so I think i'm in the same boat.
  19. I don't want to speak for Woody, but the difference between ~7k posts and ~28k posts might help explain the free time discrepancy. ?
  20. To be fair, I can picture him saying each of those phrases clearly. He is nothing if not consistent. :) Back to the game - this is a big test for our up-and-coming team. They have had some intriguing showings against the last few teams, but I don't think they will be able to overcome a slow period and battle back against this solid Lightning team.
  21. After having just taken 2 1/2 weeks in Italy, Slovenia, Croatia, Greece and Malta I will say that your trip sounds ###### amazing. I have found that the second I got back to the states (well Canada first) I was already thinking about when I could go back to Europe for more. I think the next time we want to check out northern Europe (Germany, Switzerland, Netherlands, etc.) so I would love to buy you a beer when we get back and swap travel stories. As a single guy traveling i'm sure yours will be far more interesting...
  22. Oh happy day! Good luck kid, sorry your career ended up being an ESPN punch line
  23. Yeah Dark - sorry bud but I think you are just picking the wrong ones and getting unlucky. I've rode the all used car purchase train for a while and while I have had maintenance & repairs as expected, none of them were expensive enough where I thought I was getting hosed. Seeing how much new cars cost compared to the worth I attribute to them, I will take a few wheel bearings, brake & rotor and various sensor repairs and still come out ahead. My 2005 Ford Five Hundred did end up needing a new transmission after ~140k miles, so I sold it rather than pay thousands to fix it - but I already had gotten 4 years of use out of it. Other cars were 1999 Ford Explorer, 2007 Pontiac G6 and current 2009 Subaru Impreza
  24. Come on guys, we could totally beat the Jets which will jumpstart the 7 game winning streak to end the year to get us to 9-7... ...and still miss the playoffs. /sarcasm I know we rejoiced at the time, but think of how nice it would have been if Bon Jovi relocated the team to Toronto and we could stop caring about this radioactive sludge of a footbaw team.
  25. Sorry to hear that my friend. Hopefully the Canadian Health Care system can take care of you.
