  1. That's more lazy uninspired points than anyone else in the league. His trade value has never been higher
  2. Foligno is by far my favorite player on this team. He plays like this on a nightly basis and we have a new identity. :w00t:
  3. The Bruins were salivating every time they were out there. It was obvious to everyone (except Lindy lol)
  4. For the record I did not expect that kind of performance, when we went down 3-1 in the second I thought they would throw in the towel and pack it in. Boy was I wrong. Typical Sabres, just when I think they aren't worth watching they remind me why I watch every game p.s. Leopold was horrible again tonight. The Myers/Leo pairing was by far the worst on the team. The bruins has instant pressure whenever they were on the ice.
  5. Timeout prevents the Ottawa incident where they had their stars and we had our goons. We prob sent out the ennis line and the bruins sent out macdermit
  6. Gave in and am watching the game, hopefully it isn't as bad as I expect it to be. We are still leagues away from competing with the Bruins IMO. Shout out to LPF for the tips earlier
  7. See I don't see his skillset as enough to overcome his limited size. Fleury was a star because despite his small stature he was lightning fast and also was willing to throw his body around enough to not be a total liability. Ennis' skills would make him a good top 6 NHL forward as long as he was a average size NHL player. Since he is not, his skills need to be that much more elite. To recap: T. Fleury > M. St. Louis > T. Ennis > N. Gerbe. IMO you can only have the first two on a legit cup team
  8. The only playing that Kaleta will be doing for the next few days is with himself :ba dum cha: :P
  9. I think it is pretty telling that a lot of posters here are choosing Ennis as the trade bait and not part of the future cup team. I tend to agree with this notion, as hockey is not played in a vacuum and talent means nothing if you have the body of a child. I identify Ennis and Gerbe players as expendable in an effort to put out a team that actually looks the size and body type of the other 29 NHL teams. There's a reason the Fleurys and Martin St. Louis of the world are few and far between. It takes a lot of skill to make up for the size deficiency...
  10. Based on all indications it is Sultzer in for Brennan and Gerbe for Kaleta injury
  11. Basically my entire Geneseo graduating class that I keep in touch is either unemployed or still in school. Then again they were all teaching majors. And I have the nerve to complain about traveling for work and only being in Buffalo one week out of the month
  12. F*** you, right? One of my friends has a training thing to go to starting next week Monday. The flight to take them to Jacksonville, FL leaves at 4pm Sunday night. :wallbash:
  13. Wait I thought the super bowl was last week... so much intensity and hitting. 62-35 was a pretty high scoring game come to think of it. :bag:
  14. He definitely is an NHL caliber defensemen. I think people around here are so sensitized to hate the soft finesse players on the team that things get over blown a little. Product of having a soft team for 10+ years. 99' seems like forever ago...
  15. Yikes, that went from a minor thing to a major injury in a hurry. Hope he comes back healthy... the league never has enough talented players.
  16. To be fair he was a back-up goalie at one point
  17. I was surprised how many athletes and trainers were interviewed about it and mentioned that it seems to be no big deal to ingest deer antler spray orally.
  18. Agreed, watching him in the rochester games and the scrimmage earlier this year (the only live games i've seen) he makes a lot of subtle plays to get teammates in good position to make plays. He does have a tendency to force passes to tight places but that should hopefully improve with confidence and experience.
  19. Water + breaker box = bad news bears Hopefully that's not your problem to fix cause that is not an ideal situation
  20. As do I, I think Foligno could be one of the few players that I actually look forward to having on the team for the forseeable future. Good stuff from the kid so far this year.
  21. Meh, I'm probably not even going to watch this one tonight. The 20 minute drive on Tuesday to a BWW only to lose in the last seconds left a bitter taste in my mouth. This team is no different than last year's group of shinny hockey players. I can will them to play more aggressive and physical all I want but it just isn't gonna happen. I'll stay in the comforts of my hotel room and watch Archer instead... Watch them come out and play well just to prove me wrong but i'm expecting a manhandling 4-2 loss.
  22. Well that was another ugly game. A few good games by select players (Foligno, Stafford, Weber, Sekera) but the rest were meh. Good on Grigs for getting his first goal. Leopold is my least favorite player on this team by far. He played poor defense and soft all game. Myers on his pairing was like playing with fire... I realize Grigs was -3 for the first few periods but for F*** sake is Matt Ellis a better option for your third line center?! I don't get it, let the kid play. I absolutely hate the instigator rule. after Kaleta got run Weber did exactly what he was supposed to do and take care of it on the ice and challenge. And instead of the PP, the sabres are even strength and get a 10 min misconduct. Makes no goddamn sense. Miller :death:
  23. Thanks MattPie. Don't think I can make it to Lancaster Brewing Co. tonight as that's almost an hour drive from where i'm at (Mechanicsburg, PA to be more precise). I looked on the google machine and it looks like there are a few Aroogas Sports Bars that I might check out and if not there's always a Buffalo Wild Wings which I know will have the game. Not sure if you have any input but I don't really want anything more than a beer and a tv.
  24. Not sure i've ever heard that one before. I can't tell if today being 'dildoes' is a good thing or a bad thing. I guess it all depends on your perspective...
  25. For some reason I thought the NHL had 32 cities. Maybe i'm still stuck on football and the NFL (I blame Ray Lewis)... Upon a little wikipedia research, it appears as if the MLB, NHL and NBA all have 30 teams while the NFL has 32. Seems odd that all the other leagues would land on an odd number of teams per conference...
