  1. So we will get one game like the Bruins game where everyone gets a glimpse of reasonably good play and they will be back in the good graces for another few weeks of stinkers like this one. :bag:
  2. Seems like a pretty simple concept to let your best players play. This was an issue in years past where Vanek was only getting 16 mins of ice time per game and the dreaded Jochen Hecht was getting more ice time. :wallbash:
  3. That may be the only way that he isn't the coach this season
  4. Booooooooooooooooooooo!! Fire Lindy. Fire Ruff.
  5. karmas a b****. Kane finally pays for his careless stick play. Come on PP!
  6. Put me out of my misery. It's the system. Even when we are trying to come from behind there is still zero forecheck and a huge gap between our defensive forwards and their point men. It's bad hockey.
  7. Man talk about being greedy... remember we're supposed to be happy with what we get. :bag:
  8. Is that what the Jets zone looks like?! Stafford looks like he remembered how to play hockey. Someone must have told him it was a contract year :nana:
  9. Even with that late goal they still suck. Winnipeg gifted us that one going for the clinching third goal. The peg still has this one firmly under control
  10. Its sad that all that they need to do to be the best is clear their own zone effectively
  11. I'd just like to say that this has been one of the worst Sabres games to watch that I can remember. The fans are right to boo these clowns. No effort at all and the famous five guys below the dots in your own zone defense. No wonder there is no transition game. These guys suck
  12. That's... awesome. hopefully the management team starts to realize that everything isn't sunshine and kittens over at the F'N Center. That I find to be hard to believe that he could logically think that we are in a golden age. I think all the good feelings from Pegula's purchase have worn off on the fanbase with no noticeable improvements other than fancier concessions and a renaming of the arena. Band-aids on a battleship...
  13. I'm looking to move some of my dmen for a center/LW. I'd prefer to trade Gonchar but offers on anyone but Chara are welcomed...
  14. If you insist! Stuck in northern wisconsin (Appleton, WI to be exact) for a work assignment that will last two weeks with a co-worker who is about as exciting as Lindy's press conferences. I am really really getting sick of traveling every week for work and am going to be seriously looking for alternative employment opportunities that keep me in the great city of Buffalo year round. unfortunately I am dreading going back to the job hunt as it was not very fun the first time around out of college. I now have 3 years of experience in auditing and really don't think that adds much to looking for a job. I have a degree in accounting from SUNY Geneseo and good recommendations from my co-workers but it seems everything I look at in my pay grade wants a CPA and a million certifications (which I don't have). I've heard the horror stories of some of my friends as well as people on the SS board about how much job hunting sucks. Is it really too much to ask to have a job that will let me live in my own home and see my girlfriend more than once a week? Here's hoping something comes up soon... :(
  15. Well I was going to complain about being stuck in wintery northern Wisconsin for two weeks and missing valentines day and being home with my lady, but it all seems silly hearing about Shrader's complaint. I'm sorry to hear about that. To echo Chris_in_UT's thoughts, you should do everything in your power to let him see his daughter get married. It will also give him something to look forward to that will certainly give purpose to the cancer fight, which while small could be a nice silver lining.
  16. I like O'Reilly and would love to have him as a Sabre, but some of the proposals thrown around here are way overpaying. Just because he is a new player doesn't mean you should throw away all of our players. I'm more interested in him because a) I would rather have too many centers as a team building philosophy than too many wingers/d and b) it would continue the youth movement where we could potentially have a team that peaks and grows together which would give us a chance at winning in the playoffs. Old habits die hard
  17. Well that wasn't awful. So a huge improvement over typical sabres hockey. Its a wonder what some shots on goal will do for a team
  18. Wonder if this is built up to the same level as the Lucic incident around here. Hossa was a big part of the hawks team in the playoffs...
  19. A valid concern, but I only do it in the preferred long term parking lot which is pretty well monitored as there are buses and people coming ang going throughout the day. It was more a direct response to coming home from a business trip late one winter night and finding my car was buried and frozen shut. had to use the garden shovel I keep in the trunk to dig out just to move the car. Removing the ice from the windshied and windows was another huge pain using a standard snow brush and even then the first use of the wipers driving home made it near impossible to see again. Learned my lesson after that experience... :(
  20. I do that all the time when I travel for work. When I park at the airport I put up the wipers in order to prevent them from freezing to the windshield. But to my knowledge I am the only one I see do that...
  21. This is what I was getting at just without being able to word it correctly. Pegula is too enamored with LR/DR to ever fire them on his own unless he feels strong pressure from the fanbase and is advised by Black that s*** has hit the proverbial fan. In other words, we're in this for the long haul.
  22. Rats... Terry Pegula is too much of a fanboy of DR and LR to be unbiased and fire either one of them IMO. Things need to get really ugly and the fan sentiment needs to turn nearly 100% anti-Ruff/Regier for something to happen from Pegula. More of the same I fear
  23. yes I suppose you are right. They are seperate divisions entirely in all likelyhood. That being said why would Black be answering questions about making changes going forward on WGR if he is purely a business operations guy? It would seem to me that he has some input on the hockey side of things as Pegula's right hand man.
  24. I always thought that the chain of command was something like Ruff - Regier - Black - Pegula. Accordingly, I would think Black could do anything he wanted to those below him. Help us Obi-Black, you're our only hope...
