  1. If the league were to collude against a certain team winning the lottery, and it could be proven (big IF), then they would be in as much if not more trouble than colluding to have a certain team win the lottery. IMO that's too big of a potential sh!tstorm to even consider doing at the NHL league office level.
  2. Not going to lie I watched last night's Blues v Coyotes game. It was interesting I suppose but I'm probably not watching another one. It was certainly much different watching the Blues roar back in the third and dominate the last 20 minutes to get the win. Reminds me of the 06-07' Sabres teams that could put in a strong effort in the third and win after an even first 40mins. Plus with the trading away of our remaining talent, rooting for some winning hockey could be a welcome refresher from the monotony of losing every game.
  3. If true where do we thing Ehrhoff is headed? Edmonton? Anaheim? Philly? I think we're looking at our best return for him given the non-rental nature of the contract. Young top 2 line forward plus pieces is what I'd expect. There's blood in the water and I think the Sabres are setting the market rather than waiting until Wednesday at 3pm
  4. I believe it's pronounced "Jay-Zed" for our northern brethren.
  5. The first blood has been drawn. Sabres fans have had this week to look forward to for the whole season. The masses want a trade every hour to entertain them to make up for the half a season of tanking. Not to mention there have only been 3 trades (one of which being the Miller/Ott) for this trade deadline so far. Nothing's happening leaguewide.
  6. This reminds me a little bit of back when Kyle Turris was available at a discount. I thought we should grab him for sure at the time. Obviously not the same level prospect, but these discounted prospects trades are the type of lottery tickets that cost nothing but can hit big. The 3rd and 5th rounders have next to no chance of making the NHL so minimal risk.
  7. I know everyone likes the feel good story of random guy off the street dressing as backup goalie, but can anyone remember that happening twice in back to back games? If Halak is traded prior to tonight's game, we would have 2 civilians as backups in back to back games...
  8. I'm thinking that the plan all along was for Halak not to play a game in a Sabres uniform, and will only be dressed for this game as a backup out of formality. If he was the starter mix for the rest of the season wouldn't you want to try out your new toy for the first game?
  9. We have to win some games eventually, so why not against the hated Boston punks? the tank will survive
  10. What's this? a two game winning streak? Screw it - let's keep all our players and make a run for 8th :flirt:
  11. Moulson ups his deadline value! Tie game sweet!
  12. Let's go Bahston cheers?! Step your game up FNC
  13. Matt Moulson takes over as tank commander. We can't win two games so why not a 4 minute PP? and.... goal.
  14. Enroth says King Henrik who? What a save...
  15. Where did all these Boston fans at the FNC come from?
  16. Gah. F*** Chara Cue the NBCSN ballwashing of how great Chara is in front of the net
  17. To be fair that was pretty shoddy D by Bahston. Flynn could have had a picnic in the slot there
  18. Flynn goal! Where's the tank commander now?
  19. These shorthanded chances are gonna catch up with us eventually
  20. Thus concludes the trick... Hell of a 2 minute sequence by Myers
  21. Tank commander is taking over. He obviously didn't like what he saw in last night's win...
  22. Cue the Ennis is being traded bandwagon... I actually think Ennis might be one of the players we could trade to get something really valuable while also being NHL ready. One of the guys I was thinking of in the "unexpected player" in the polls.
  23. The poll wouldn't accept my surprise trade answer, gave me an error message saying I needed to answer all questions  I think that Moulson and Miller are a definite to be traded, with Ott and a surprise young player/package like an Ennis/Pysyk type trade bringing back a top line player. It is certainly possible that ancilliary parts like McCormick/McBain/Sultzer type players get traded but I don't think the returns will be worth mentioning. I'm just hoping things heat up sooner rather than later as this upcoming week is about all we have left to look forward to at this point in the season.
