Exactly. McC and Mitchell are basically the same, just a matter of preference for MIN probably. The Moulson side should be a 1st rounder + as long as values weren't destroyed.

TSN just mentioned that Halak might be in the works too. How many trades past 3pm can you make?

I think the Vanek deal is what is holding everything up. He is the top forward available. One he goes the losing bidders will move on to the next player in Moulson.

I would assume Parker was included to even out the # of pro contracts since we were at or close to the max. Pretty much our two lowest value 2nd round draft picks. Makes sense that a team would want to recoup their own picks.

This is the best interpretation of what this trade was about for me. Murray is looking for our prospects to peak in a few years and draft picks are generally going to take much longer to be NHL ready. These two could be 1-2 more years away from being NHL considerations and that the value. 15 draft picks doesn't help us much if we don't use them as ammo.

TSN Tradecenter has LA acquiring Gaborik for some picks. Crap.

based on the HF write up it sounds like he transitioned from D to LW last year in the AHL. Sounds like a bit of a project if he only has a year at the new position.

Deslauriers looks like more of the type of defenseman that GMTM mentioned he was looking for. Trading a bigger D in McNabb for a puck moving guy who is a little further behind in the development process seems consistent with how Murray wants to makeover the team going forward.

Talent write up from HF on Fasching: Talent Analysis Fasching is your prototypical big power forward. He has great hands for a player with his size and is a surprisingly good skater with a powerful stride. He works well in the corners and is not afraid to muck it up in the dirty areas of the ice and in front of the net. He was an all-situations player for the USNTDP and showed great promise as a skilled two-way player, penalty killer, and leader. Consistency has been an issue with Fasching, but if a team can get him dialed in and playing every shift and every game with the same intensity he has a lot of promise.
