They had that guy on ESPN sportscenter this morning talking about the bracket and probabilities. Pretty good plug for starting up his new website. Very interesting stuff.

All credibility lost. You know they sell those three days old in 7-11's right?

Shake up in the office PAT LaFONTAINE RESIGNS
Samson's Flow replied to Jeanbe's topic in The Aud Club
This theory seems entirely plausible given Pat LaLa's competitiveness and the timing of the resignation. A guy like Lafontaine who is used to being a leader doesn't seem like the type of guy to accept being a figurehead. And it came to culmination right before the trade deadline when the real decisions needed to be made and he was either not consulted or left out all together. -
I thought you were on my side on this one? What about peanut sticks and peanut jellies? I thought we had something special. Things were getting serious. We were gonna plan a brunch together Please don't leave me. It's so lonely here...

Don't you know when it's stomach illness you just say "under the weather"? Otherwise your friends all picture you spewing from all ends?

Does this look like a Jack Eichel thread?! McDavid only! :nana:

Oooooo a shiny new toy! It will be nice to be able to watch a player with a potential to be on the team in the future instead of the random FA scabs. Oh and Luke Adam... :death:

I would refer you to the donut thread. Lots of phallic discussion over there...

Don't worry Aud, I was just giving you a hard time. That being said, if he does end up here all of our worries about being a perennial playoff contender will be gone. If you have Crosby-type player you make the playoffs on his skill alone every year IMO.

That's both incredibly dedicated and highly concerning. The McDavid hype around here is bordering obsessive territory.

That was an incredibly amusing 3 pages of donut wars. I'm with the Paula's Donuts team and the Peanut Stick, however my personal favorite is Paula's Peanut Butter Jelly. (Peanut donut filled with Strawberry Jelly) That's the bees knees.

I would say there is a very good chance that Sam Reinhart will be our best player since Hasek, let alone McDavid. And that may be more of an indication of how talent starved we have been for the last decade or so. Even the good teams in 2006 were more based on depth of talent than elite talent.

It's amazing how much worse this terrible roster looks with Stewart and Girgs out with injuries. Conacher on the first line? Torrey Mitchell on the second? If I'm Neuvirth I am sh!tting my britches. :bag: Good for the tank though... Yeah the recent success seems to be on the back of three or four players. Certainly Enroth but also most of the goals/assists have been a combination of Myers, Ennis and Hodgson IMO. The few talented players we have are dragging this dumpster fire of a roster to wins.

Even if I don't agree with trying to be competitive next year, I'll play along. FA Moves: Re-sign Moulson Sign a FA center - Option 1:Stastny, 2:Grabovski 3:Jokinen Sign a FA RW - Option 1:Vrbata Option 2: Hemsky Moulson Stastny Vrbata Ennis Hodgson Stafford Grigensons Reinhart Stewart Foligno Konopka Flynn Ehrhoff Pysyk Myers Weber Risto Tallinder That might give us enough scoring to squeak into the 8th spot. Maybe. It would definitely get us to the cap floor.

Once we trade him of course. Then the situation will have changed. WRT to Kovy and the Devils, it doesn't make any sense to me at all as the intent to circumvent the cap was still there. Do incarcerated criminals get freed if the victim's family moves to Europe?

Looking like Conacher and Neuvirth will both make their debuts against the Panthers. Should keep the interest alive a bit after the potential drubbing against TB tonight.

The biggest thing I took away from his post deadline presser is the comment about not being afraid to make mistakes. If he likes what he sees in the return, he trusts his scouting/instinct and makes the deal. It sounded like he couldn't give two sh!ts if McNabb turns out great in LA, because he thinks Fasching and Delaurier will be worth it. I think the fear of losing a trade or making a mistake prevented our previous team from making the kind of drastic moves that can truly change a roster. It may not work out, but GMTM certainly won't be afraid to try.
