    Similar thing happened to me a week back. Had a great two interviews at a large manufacturing company and they made it seem like I was a sure thing to get this position. Told me to wait a few weeks since the whole accounting/finance department was going on a few site visits and month end close stuff. Wait a few weeks and call back to check on whats up and no word. Turns out they decided that they didn't need that position and are creating an upper level position instead. Would have been nice to let me know so I could move on to other offers. :devil:

    Agreed. I can remember very few trade ups that worked out well for the team. Even recently, Washington trading up for RG3 may have been good in the short term, but they lost the #2 overall this year for it. Sanchez back in the day with the Jets ended up as a dumpster fire. All flash and you get the ESPN ratings for a few weeks but you end up going backwards. The cost for trading up is never worth it IMO unless you guarantee a elite franchise QB, in which case the team you are trading with probably isn't willing to trade out. Take the unsexy picks that will help your team in your given draft slot.

    I know - I went over there to get more "comprehensive" draft coverage and all I saw was four threads on trading up and random doom and gloom comments throughout. FFS the draft hasn't happened yet and everyone is already miserable. reminds me why I usually just stick to this board.

    Just remember that the 49ers traded for Boldin for a 6th rounder. So don't expect trading Stevie to net us anything worthwhile in terms of draft assets.

    I think the target would be Watkins, as the dropoff between him and the rest of the WR crop is pretty significant IMO. That and the Bills will want to give EJ Manuel every opportunity to succeed in order to know whether we have a QB or not. That being said, i'd rather target the Jacksonville pick at 3 since it may not cost us our #1 in 2015. We shall see tomorrow.

    There's a big difference in quality between Lindy Ruff and Darcy Regier. I don't think anyone around here was questioning if Lindy was going to get a job, it was more how quickly. There were (and still are) serious questions over whether Darcy Regier will ever be a GM again.

    I'm aware it happened last year, but I wouldn't count on one exception providing your basis for another. Plus it's Oakland. That's like beating the kid picked last for dodgeball.

    Only giving the 2014 #9 (1350) and the 2014 3rd rounder #73 (225) leaves 225 points on the table if we are moving up to #4. That's probably too big of a gap. Now if Watkins falls to #5/#6, then the point values fall to 1700/1600 which is a much more reasonable gap of 125/25pts.

    here's the chart http://walterfootball.com/draftchart.php #4 is worth 1800, so the Bills would need to include the #9 2014 (1350) plus 450 more points. That equals the 2014 2nd rounder #41 (490) or 2015 1st rounder (generally worth the 2014 2nd)

    This is about as close to forcing him to sell the team that the league can do. Glad they didn't wimp out. The other point is even if they did nothing, the team going forward has probably lost all ability to recruit FA targets since not many players will want to come to play for Sterling. What if CP3 or Griffin demand a trade in the offseason cause they refuse to play for that franchise. The team is f'd as long as Sterling is there.

    Im having a hard time deciding who I would be happy with in this draft, since i'm not really in love with any of the players in the 8-12 mock range. Watkins would be the guy I would want so this would be awesome news if true. Watkins/Woods would be a great combo moving forward and could let a QB develop knowing there were elite options at WR.

    Thanks TrueBlue. The article I was mentioning was from the Toronto Star when he was first traded. Things could have certainly changed since then and I can't say I watch a lot of Habs hockey.

    Quite possible, given the youth of the Avs top 6. That said, I will tune in to watch that MacKinnon/Landeskog/Stasny line all day. Exciting stuff.

    Not to mention the Cleveland game on Thursday night. If EJ doesn't get hurt we had a great shot at that one. But it seems like the same can be said about every Bills season I can remember. Losing Pettite will hurt the D big IMO Improvement!

    No big surprise that the Capitals banner at the bottom looks like the best/most detailed. Most of them are pretty plain. Cool concept though (it got my click)

    There were initial articles out of Montreal that Vanek was being asked to play more of a 3rd line/shutdown role based on his linemates when he was first traded. Not sure if that has changed but I don't know if he was too happy with that situation when he first joined the team.

    Damn you qwk... I could watch that .gif all day. Yeah agreed on everyone's take on the Dany storyline above. the storming/seizing of Mereen should have been a whole episode long similar to the Blackwater bay battle. Or at least let her chill outside the gates and let more of the champions of Mereen come and get killed by not-Belwas. that would have been entertaining to watch. Dany in Mereen is boring learn how to rule stuff. Which makes for yawn tv. Unless of course this is happening the whole time. (might have to move the time slot back though :blush:)
