    The Blue Jays traded for Josh Donaldson! I really liked his game last year in Oakland, and he had the second highest position player WAR last year. Fills a huge 3B hole and gives the Jays maybe the best corner infield in the league with Encarnacion and Donaldson. Unfortunately, I fear it will further prove that they can have a lineup full of 20 and 30 HR hitters and without starting pitching will still lose 6-5. This is coming from a place of love as I am a huge Jays fan. But teams like the SF Giants make it deep in October every year because they have multiple elite to good SP options.

    My brain always struggles/is amazed by the sheer tinyness of atomic objects. Electrons are exponentially smaller than the smallest visible objects, and quarks are exponentially smaller than electrons. there's all these super small objects interacting behind the scenes of our daily lives to which we are mostly oblivious.

    Eleven's enthusiasm for this has sort of made my day. How one can be that happy for the EDIT POTENTIAL trade of Drew Stafford is both impressive and disturbing.

    Where are you seeing that? I only saw that McCoy was starting this week over RGIII. You think the Bills fans complin about the Watkins trade? The Redskins fans would go apeshit turning multiple first ounders into a mid round pick a few years later. Shanahan putting him in for that playoff game a few years back may have ruined his career.

    I have read what amounts to multiple pages of posters trying to reason and provide support refuting or contradicting HF's idealistic view of a what a republic should be. I just want to commend all of you on your decorum in this 'discussion'. It was a highly entertaining (if not somewhat frustrating) read. I fear there is little hope in finding any middle ground with HF's view, but the rest of you have given me a interesting sampling of where the sabrespace community lands on current issues. I thank you all :thumbsup:

    Some long time Bostonite now moved to the land of rape and pillage has taken it upon themselves to break a tradition. Complaints on a wednesday?!? What is this communist russia? Finishing up a kitchen renovation and the cabinet and countertop vendors have consistently mis-shipped and omitted key components that are making this take weeks longer than it should. You're really shocked that I wanted handles and pulls for my new cabinets? A drain for the new sink I ordered and installed? I am starting to wonder how these people are thriving with such piss-poor logistics and ordering systems in place. Oh that's right - new cabinets are nearly 10 grand.

    Well when you are putting up multiple point nights every night, the scoreless night is a big deal. It's like Monet drawing a ###### paint by numbers picture. People take notice. He's clearly a bust. As a matter of fact, lets cut any Sabres player that has a scoreless night going forward... :lol:

    Yeah. Thundersnow as well. It's by far the coolest weather phenomenon we get around here. Second only IMO to the 'desert tornado' things that happen in the southwest.     Southtowns are expected to get anywhere from a foot to two feet. Northtowns forecast is much nicer at 1-2". All depends on where the snow band goes...

    Totally agree. I am encouraged, hell, even excited for what Buffalo will turn into in the next few years. Development in the waterfront, new construction all over downtown buffalo and medical campus, new restaurants and hotels opening as we speak, removal of hookers/underage nightclubs on Chippewa. It's happening here, slowly but surely.

    I'm voting for more than three this time as there are a few players I feel strongly that should survive, so I am weeding out the rest by voting them off. How has Gorges survived this long? (I've voted for him every time :lol:)

    That was a very interesting chart, showing that we are pretty far ahead at this point. Ironically, I spent a bit of time looking at how the Sabres could finish with over 100 points. Only ~3,000 occurances out of 880,358,740 simulations... so you're saying there's a chance... :thumbsup:

    Yeah quick google search to the Sabres website indicated that this CHL stinkfest tonight is a silver game. Does a friday night really have that much of an impact?

    In the CHL that is a platinum level game for sure. Sidenote: do the Sabres still do that variable pricing structure (value, bronze, silver, gold, platinum)?
