    It's tough to mention Kane at this point because he hasn't played at all for the Sabres. I wouldn't worry about the national perception seeing as we knew this trade was a present value for future value type trade. I would sure as shite hope that Winnepeg would be benefitting in the short term since that was the whole point of the trade.

    Is everyone safely backing off the ledge now? It's amazing how one win from the Coyotes changes everyone's tune. I have been saying all along that the randomness inherent in sports/hockey, coupled with the Sabres statistics demonstrating that they are the worst team, would mean it will be very difficult for the Coyotes to make up the gap with so few games left. There was very little chance IMO that the Coyotes would finish the season undefeated (CHL), just because hockey is so fluid and unpredictable.

    I fear that the possible return of a healthy Bogosian may mitigate any benefit from starting Hackett.

    To be fair, a line of just Girgensens and Foligno is probably tougher to play against than most of the lines that the Darcy Regier era teams trotted out there.

    I'm really glad that the team did turn them down. Hard Knocks has been a show for the teams desperate for attention and generally end up being not very good football teams. That this team turned down the offer shows me that they are serious about building a winning team and don't want/need the distraction/added attention.

    Don't worry, i'm pretty sure Roby is still in his basement analyzing the Sabre's play to nobody in particular, still probably thinks he's on the broadcast.

    We are gonna revolutionize hockey. the first LW LW C lineup. The advanced left wing lock. The other team won't know what hit them. (until they see nobody on the right side of the ice... :doh:)

    Yeah I saw all those. Lots of confident quotes from Rex. And he absolutely blasted Bryce Brown. Along the lines of won't learn his name until he learns to hold on to the ball.

    If that's the case, I hope our perspective of 'good guys' aligns with the NHL and Bettman's idea of 'good guys'

    Just rooting for the team's improvement will make next year 1000x better than the end of this season. I can't remember the last time everyone on this board collectively rooted for a Sabres goal/victory.

    Talk to me after Monday 3/30. We're still going to finish last. Based on the performance metrics, I still say we are the worst team by a significant margin.

    Im just excited to be able to leave work at 2. The whole department is heading over to the local watering hole to watch the game together. That and UB finally playing a meaningful game in the national spotlight. The program has come a long ways in the last few years.

    If the season ended right now, what place would we finish? Until that answer isn't DFL, I will have faith in the metrics saying we are the worst team by a significant margin.

    All we need to secure the shart is to be a little looser in the back end. The last few games our back end has been blocking everything and nothing can get through Hopefully our back end will loosen up and the other team can pot a few. :thumbsup: :sick:
