Nick work rakish. It's very telling to see that as the proportion of his shots closer to the net went up in the 2011 and 2012 seasons, the more goals he had. When he started shooting more from the 30ft area, his goal scoring output went down drastically. Kids: go to the net, that's where you score the goals. This isn't an NHL videogame.

Can I rehash a really old argument and say that Evander Kane is exactly what everyone was hoping for in the 'Concept of Zack Kassian'. I'm really glad that we as a fanbase don't seem to be worried about rostering a team of creampuffs anymore. :thumbsup: thats why I have been here for nearly 8 years and only have ~2k posts. Reading the chaos from afar is so much more interesting.

I would think it would be something along the lines of the players mentioning that he was a great guy and a good motivator, but there was only so far that this approach would take them. When that's your only move, there isn't much faith the players can give when it comes time to strategize and 'outcoach' in the playoffs. I would guess that the players appreciated him holding everyone together and accountable, but don't think he's the guy to win a coaching battle in the playoffs.

:lol: To be fair, we usually have a little longer to make our predictions. If you have followed any of my posts for the past few months, you would know that I was strongly in the "Ted Nolan gets fired immediately" camp. I just didn't visit the board all weekend to make my picks before the firing.

If the show follows the book (a big if), then for sure we will be seeing all of what Cersei has to offer. The first episode of most of the seasons is usually more about setting up the storylines than anything else, and with the season having so many character storylines, it is understandable that it was sort of ho-hum. We didn't even see Arya's storyline in Bravvos either. That will be a big episode 2 plot.

I don't hate GMTM at all. Did what was needed to put this team on the path to future success. Swamp's post above is exactly how I see it. GMTM has to play the PR game of saying that they weren't trying for last/didn't expect to be this bad. It's the unwritten rule of being a lottery team that you don't admit to trying to be the worst. Something about the integrity of the competitive nature of sports. That and if you don't admit it, there can always be some plausible deniability, even with tons of evidence to the contrary.

I agree that this list is basically two people. If the Sabres and Pegule bucks can lure Babcock than that will be our coach, but I have a sneaking suspicion that Babcock decides to go elsewhere for personal preference reasons, and if that happens than Richardson is the coach. Way too much smoke on the Richardson side for him not to be the "safety school" choice for GMTM. But they will pursue Babcock first.

Sabres finish within 10 points of a playoff spot next year. It is again enjoyable to watch Sabres hockey.

Let's go Buffalo. I'm excited to root for the Sabres again. One game where I don't feel dirty cheering for our goals

I have no idea what to say to this. Larsson is a good prospect but is nowhere near the level of Reinhart and Eichel. He's not our #1 center going forward

The addition of a legitimate first line next year will make this team significantly better. Eichel, Kane and any RW makes this team competitive.
