  1. If true about the young players that is concerning. However, he certainly has the experience in the NHL that a guy like Richardson would not. And the teams he had were lacking in talent but still were relatively successful.
  2. Youre doing it ... right?
  3. Thanks for the clarification Liger. For the record, I trust your scouting opinion just because I know you spend way more time reading the reports than anyone else. Differentiating the good vs. great language is an important point.
  4. Depends on the bunny suit ;)
  5. Come on LB, we need to embrace the future. All of our players need to be 24 and under. That way we can all project them to turn into superstars in a few years and we can win all the cups.
  6. But in the NFL scouting reports, there is almost always a number of negatives, even with top 15 picks. Those tell me more than the rainbows and sunshine scouting reports we see in the NHL.
  7. Not when it was already a tough draw in Atlanta to begin with. You would be surprised what marketing gimmicks teams will come up with.
  8. This was the angle I was looking at. If none of Eichel's line is still at BU, I think he has much less incentive for sticking around since he would have to build chemistry with new college players.
  9. I really think it is more that he has given so much during his career that he doesn't have much left, even at 28. Lately his seasons have been all injuries and struggles, and I would rather he survive than keep trying to be a 4th line NHL'er. The Rochester/NHL scenario mentioned above wouldn't be horrible, but I doubt an established NHL player would go for that.
  10. It's also the style of play the Sabres employed. Unlike Lindy Ruff teams of the past, where the defense liberally pinched and the forwards were encouraged to breakout quickly for the stretch pass, Nolan's system was more of a "all 5 guys behind the puck" type strategy. That prevented our goalies being subjected to high % breakaways and 2-on-1s when the defense would get caught in a pinch. Basically, you had 40 shots to beat our goalie on a clean shot or deflected point shot. Those are lower percentage scoring chances than odd man rushes and slot chances.
  11. That and I am much more willing to go to a winter game when the Bills are still in the playoff hunt. Its the meaningless 5-11 seasons that made me consider staying home.
  12. Let it go man, Chz isn't going to return your calls.
  13. Hopefully not with Tim Connolly's brain. (too soon?)
  14. The Canucks ones make me feel a whole lot better. A lot of the Sabres retired numbers are more for contribution to the community/longevity than impact on the game. I'm thinking specifically Gare and LaFontaine. They were good players, but were also really loved and remained in the Buffalo community.
  15. Nah JJ is my buddy. We've had civil discussions in the past and I backed him when he went all Florida Panthers on us. The bunnies are only to combat obvious evil.
  16. Not Connolly. Hodgson. You know better NS. I thought we were friends...
  17. Especially since there are basically no quality RW's available in free agency.
  18. that's certainly better than a heart attack.
  19. Nice... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=baJ_cOzOOfI
  20. Take it back... don't make me go all LastPommerFan on a new poster (just kidding - welcome to the board )
  21. I only posted bunny pics to deter that Georgia poster from declaring doom on the tank.
  22. I knew I was doing it wrong. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-NPqM3vPDg8
  23. No need to explain further. Wikipedia was the link you gave in your original post. That's what I was talking about. Shrader had a better source. S'all good.
  24. It's not made up in Canada though - they would never lie up north... ;)
