  1. I would have thought by now you have seen them all. And you call yourself a fan...
  2. Huberdeau is primarily a LW, even though he is listed as a C on some sites. As such, you probably wouldn't want to play him on his off wing on the top line as it may limit his productivity. I think that... ...gives us more of a line 1A/1B type of scenario and prevents teams from stacking to shut down the Eichel line, which has recently been the formula to beat the Sabres.
  3. @Wyldnwoody44 I did the dog sledding thing when I was up in Quebec City back in HS/College days. To this day one of the most memorable and coolest experiences I've had. It was so cool to experience the culture and mindset of human/animal co-dependence and how their lifestyle is so different from what we are used to. It also helped that our sled dog team had all the "legit" dogs and not the in-training ones, so our sled of four bear dogs were way faster than everyone else's team of 6. ?
  4. It's Eleven.
  5. Agreed. I am prepared if this were to happen for it to sting a bit in terms of prospects that we like, but opportunities for this level of player/contract don't come around often. Haha yes there is this. Maybe all it takes is Okposo, Beaulieu and a 2nd ?
  6. For perspective, we as a board are all fairly comfortable offering Skinner somewhere in the $7-$8 million per year deal as a UFA right now, and expect Reinhart to get a similar deal when he finishes his bridge. Jonathan Huberdeau, with a cap friendly deal ($5.9 cap hit for 4 more years), has similar point totals (52 pts in 54 gms) to both Skinner (50) and Reinhart (49), and would be a major discount in terms of cap hit v. market value. Sign me up for a top two lines of Jack & Jeff and Jon & Sam long term.
  7. Hell yes we should be interested. That locked in cap hit for an established player with term is exactly what a team in our position needs. No idea. Unless they are looking for an outrageous price that will never get matched?
  8. I know right?!? Thanks for easing her in and talking about medical work stuff as opposed to jumping right to microwaving babies.
  9. Thanks - looks like there are some decently priced tickets in section 120 and 123 right now. May pull the trigger after a few more losses drives the price down (kidding ?)
  10. For those of you that got TW tickets, what section are they in so I can get an idea where to buy tickets to be near-ish to the group. I might be bringing my wife with me to meet more of these "hockey friends", since meeting Woody at the game a few weeks ago didn't scare her away.
  11. I added in my edit. The 4pm game is only on CBS Sports Network which is a premium channel I don't get. The 8pm is on NFL Network though
  12. When there's been multiple obvious penalties not called there is. The Sabres are not a team that benefits from swallowing the whistle
  13. Are they going to call anything today? There's been like 4 whistles total today and we're almost done with the first period
  14. There's another game today at 4. I was encouraged that it wasn't gimmicky (only thing is mandatory 2 pt conversions) and seemed to eliminate a lot of the ticky tack calls that have infiltrated the NFL game Edit: today's game is only on CBS Sports network which very few of us will have
  15. Anyone watching AAF? It's... Interesting
  16. You're not. I was thinking the same thing. He could have drawn an interference penalty or something
  17. @Wyldnwoody44 that's awesome man! Glad you were finally able to catch the lights. Third time's a charm
  18. I thought the verbiage was "waived or traded", but don't quote me on it. nevermind
  19. Yes but to clarify if you read the axis of the chart, Pilut and Dahlin are our two best defensemen at exiting the zone with possession, which is used as a proxy for offensive ability. In that same manner, they also rank highly in the y axis of break up % which I would say is true, in that they are deft at intercepting passes and/or clean stick checks. The y axis is not for example "net front tie ups" or "board battles won", which they would be much poorer at given their skill set. I don't buy into the only thing you need to be able to do well to be a quality NHL defenseman is exiting the zone and breaking up rushes, but it is interesting none-the-less.
  20. Ah the old "Jay McKee staph infection" scenario!
  21. As random as the poor results for #15 pick (41.7% oof). When you only have 13 data points in each pick set, there's going to be some volatility. Calculating a log "best fit" line like in Smell's original visual would smooth those variances out and help identify where the tangible drop off is.
  22. This is what I thought he meant last night as well. "We've got to do a better job of protecting our goal" or somesuch. Good clarification Samson.
  23. I like you Duda - keep up the good work!
  24. after last night... deteriorating quickly.
  25. That looks more like olympic team speed skating than NHL hockey. I had to zoom in to make sure it wasn't the same player photoshopped 3x.
