The first shot at the development camp was all I needed to see. Eichel is really good at hockey.

As someone who just got married last month (only three weeks ago now), the biggest thing I can say is that the whole day just flys by. Make sure to take a few minutes to enjoy where you are and who you are with. I swear my wedding ceremony felt like it took 5 minutes when it really took 1 hour +. I thought I was gonna cry too, but the whole thing was so surreal for me that I didn't have time to comprehend the events enough to get emotional. By far the longest part of the day is the few hours before the wedding ceremony itself. The waiting in the church room felt like it took hours. Good luck. Could you be confusing him with your other favorite poster? :P

Yeah it appears to be only the guys who have yet to play in the NHL. The first group (1pm-2pm) seemed to be the younger guys with most of the newly drafted guys. The second group (coming on now) look to be the second year/rochester guys like Reinhart, McCabe etc. Eichel's passing was another thing for me, he one touched basically every pass and had a few nice backhand saucers that really stood out. The first shot was a showcase of his skill but he probably skated at half speed just so the rest of the guys could keep up.

I'm planning to head down with a few co-workers for todays 1pm practice. We will see how everything looks and report back

Is that the same Mike Richards that had his contract voided by the Kings?

I would agree that both of those guys are pretty big names that I would love to add. My only concern with that is that with everyone else that we have now, it might force some tough Chicago like decisions where we have to lose players we like in a few years. That said, that is a great problem to have since you can use these talents to restock the prospects/depth with cheaper players. I'd be down if we can find a price for either one. you can never have too many good players.

Thats in line with what I thought it was going to be. 7-8 mil a year. Just depended on length.

Nice :flirt:

Excellent. I knew it was a matter of time, but it will be nice to finally be able to pencil his name into the top 6 next year.

Agreed. This is my one stop shop for news

Your last sentance is what I was thinking of when I made my post. If it turns out to be a relatively minor offense, then other teams with big contract albatrosses may pursue this clause at the first sign of trouble. I'm just hoping if it goes through it is for some serious sh!t.

But who is going to play RW for us? I thought he was a lock... :nana:
-
Yep it is an escape from jail free card for a team that handed out a very bad contract. If this is successful it sets a very bad precedent that other teams may try to emulate.

Haha that's pretty cool. I think DDB is more pandering to the crowd than anything else. I think he has a pretty good idea of what he wants to do at the start of camp. Also hold off your submissions until they sign Eichel - he's not on the list yet.

The top 6 I see are Kane, O'Reilly, Eichel, Ennis, Reinhart, Moulson. You mentioning that Kane could reach 30 goals if healthy, that would be comparable to a top 10 goal scorer (#10 last year was Parise with 33). I would take that in a heartbeat. If both Kane and Ennis do that we are a top scoring team. Based on your comments and assumptions above that gets us way in the positives for goal scoring from the top 6. The whole thread is about making a prediction, saying there are unknowns doesn't really help much IMO.

This one looks good to me. Especially since it gives Reinhart the option to transition to center with the same linemates later on in the season. That and Kane provides protection from cheap shots against Reinhart. I'm not worried at all about Eichel. That line has two good puck carriers and a net front finisher/vet in Moulson. The other added benefit is we have a talented checking line with Girgensons centering the third line with whomever wins the McGinn/Foligno/Larsson/Gionta battle royale.

When you compare our top 6 to other teams that just made the playoffs last year, I think I take our group every time. That gives me hope that we have a chance at the playoffs as soon as this year.

I doubt it, but it is an interesting thought that many of use around here have yet to consider. Anyone out there know how reliable Kristen Nelson - NHL.com Staff Writer is? I haven't heard of her.

Murray has traded a lot of assets in a very short period of time

Sounds eerily familiar to my 10th birthday party... :bag: -
This is the world we live in now. Breaking news from an Instagram bio.

He was given a flyer because of his size, but he showed in the prospects camp that he didn't have the skill. Not sure how he played in Rochester this year as I don't have access to those games.

I Don't Know How Anyone Could Be upset With The Moves
Samson's Flow replied to CallawaySabres's topic in The Aud Club
Yeah that seems to be going around a lot these days regarding the handed-ness argument. In the end they are hockey players and if there is chemistry everything will be fine no matter the position. There are pros and cons to playing the 'off wing', you are weaker along the boards but can get one-timers off faster. To me it is more about meshing playing styles and skating ability than anything else. Similar speed players should be on the same line to prevent offsides and neutering one players speed waiting for his linemates.
