Sabres hosting their own prospect tournament Sept 12-14
Samson's Flow replied to pi2000's topic in The Aud Club
It's like a lazy eye staring contest. -
Leaving in Nova to walk the bases loaded and with one swing the game is blown open by Smoak. Jays remain hot. Huge games to make up ground on the Yankees

Sounds like a garbage plate I might actually want to eat.

He can certainly feel it when your bumper rides up his a$$... No complaints here. Just here for the light reading.

Is there a hockey player with a female synonym name? (The only one I can think of is Clitsome  )

Touche DSD...

Touched by Girls... why am I not using that one instead? Makes me seem like I don't live in my parents basement

 Jose Bautista!

I think our misinformed Whiskey friend was speaking to the upcoming Jays - O's series. He does not understand the elite winning machine that the Jays have become. EDIT: It seems I am misinformed as I was thinking of the home and home series with the Yankees coming up. Either way, the Orioles are stinky birds that will be chasing the Jays for the rest of the year.

Soccer (Football) ~ Everything About The Beautiful Game
Samson's Flow replied to Sabres Fan in NS's topic in The Aud Club
As much as I enjoy the game and loved playing, this is why I only played sparingly for one season a few years back. The ratio of running to actually playing is no beuno. -
The Jays are in the playoffs!!! woooo Only 55 more games left in the season to hold onto it!
-
I'm more happy about 8 innings 11 K's from Price in his debut. It's amazing how easy it is to win a baseball game when your starter gives up 1 run and goes deep into the game. :)

Grrrr :censored: Damn grammar nazis.
-
Thanks bud! I'm obviously at work, but the MLB Network here in the states was broadcasting the 1pm game today. For being so close we don't get to see many Jays games in WNY

Joe Battista, Sabres VP of Hockey Related Business, has resigned
Samson's Flow replied to z-man's topic in The Aud Club
This is really going to hurt the Blue Jays chances of making the playoffs. To lose your starting right fielder midway through the season? They're only 1 game out of the wild card FFS!! oh, we're talking about Battista... -
The ol' double contrarian. Damn you're good. I think that there is a wide range of possibilities of what could have actually happened that morning, but until I receive some form of damning physical evidence or testimony, I am not looking for anyone to lose their job. The monetary punishment and suspension is more than enough for me without being privy to the facts. Let's hope the ROR saga ends with the same fizzle that this situation did.
-
To play contrarian, there probably was only a hefty settlement because he is a public figure in a position of (fairly) large notoriety. If this was Joe Smith who worked 2nd shift at the Ford plant i'm guessing this is either a) settled out of court for basically nothing or b) not even brought to charges since neither party has the means to pursue a lengthy court proceeding for a late night tussle. The employer for Joe Smith in the above situation probably doesn't even get wind of this and he goes on to live his life and work his job as usual. Because it was Aaron Kromer who is in the spotlight as a member of the staff of an NFL team, and there are dedicated media/reporters out there to cover only NFL related news, the situation cost him more than your average guy, but no way do I think he should be fired since he's not been convicted of anything and there are no longer charges being pursued.

First games with new teams are always generally pretty lackluster. Most MLB players are creatures of routine and do not perform well without that comfort zone. Revere will be fine, as he has the speed and slap hitter mentality to just get on base for the power hitters. The pitching will always be a little suspect since Rogers Centre has something like the second highest offensive park rating next to Coors Field in Colorado. Even good pitchers stink at Coors (and presumably Rogers).

Actual quality hockey discussion?!? I can't believe how quickly our whipping boys and tin foil hat leaders are falling lately. -
The Jays are certainly going all out on the playoff push this year. Added a true leadoff hitter in Ben Revere and a reliever in Mark Lowe. Here's to hoping we see the Jays in the playoffs come September.
-
Have you seen the Blue Jays pitching this season? Adding a top of the rotation ace also bumps the worst starter out of the rotation, a rotation that is currently #13 in ERA in the AL (out of 15) The Jays need pitching badly, but they still need at least one more competent starter before I would give them a shot at the playoffs.
-
If so it's a tough price to pay (no pun intended) for a few months of his services. Especially when the Jays are currently 7 GB for the division lead and similarly far away from the wild card. Let's hope it works out cause we have been giving away lots of the pitching prospects that are supposed to save the team in the future.

Plus the network abbreviation "WET" might give some kids the wrong idea...

I agree, its pretty tough to formulate a cohesive response in the politics thread. The last post I made here took me the better part of half an hour to put together. There's way more careful choosing of words in this type of thread versus talking about who is going to be third line center.

They are still relevant (sort of) into August. As a Jays fan that is about as good as I can hope for lately.
